I thought the cartels were wrapped into the Mexican federal gov't. The IED is therefore an official weapon used on American soil killing an American citizen. Mexico started the cross battle open warfare.

Trump could respond by sending a missile into the houses of both waring cartels to avoid a mistake

Just to be clear, Tamaulipas is 2 hours south of Brownsville, Texas. Well into Mexico.

Says he ranched both sides of the border.

quote:

A 74-year-old Texas rancher and one other person were killed and a third person was injured by what authorities said was an improvised explosive device planted by a cartel close to the U.S.-Mexico border.

The rancher died near Brownsville, Texas, but was killed on the Mexican side of the border, said Sid Miller, the Texas Agriculture commissioner, in a statement Tuesday.

Miller’s office told NewsNation that the incident took place earlier this month. The rancher, Antonio Céspedes Saldierna, ranched on both sides of the border. Saldierna ran over an IED — which authorities suspect was planted by a drug cartel — in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, Miller’s office confirmed to NewsNation.

quote:

Rancher Antonio Céspedes Saldierna, 74, who worked on both sides of the border, along with Horacio Lopez Peña, were killed in the blast in Tamaulipas, Mexico, which was just south of Brownsville, Texas. Lopez’s wife, Ninfa Griselda Ortega, was hospitalized with injuries.

Lol people hate facts

quote:

According to Ramiro, his father was driving on his ranch in the Santa Rita area of San Fernando, Tamaulipas, when he set off the explosive device.

“I'm sad, I'm confused, I'm in shock,” Ramiro said.

Ramiro is a U.S. Army veteran who served several missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. He said he was injured by an Improvised Explosive Device — or an IED — on his deployment. Ramiro said he could never imagine his father would fall victim to one back home on his ranch.

“I consider this a terrorist attack because if I went to war to fight terrorists, and I’m seeing the same thing here to me – my personal opinion – it is a terrorist attack,” Ramiro said.

Where did this information come from?

the article that was linked. He had land on both sides of the border and was in Mexico when he hit the IED.

I'm going with not random - he had dealings with the cartel that went bad or they wanted to have dealings and he refused.

This is how you get DevGru hunting you.

Or the DevGru guys setting up IEDs on the roads the cartels use. Maybe one right outside El Jefe's house.

How large of a hole would they need to hide a MOAB?

The Mexican state of Tamaulipas is literally the other side of the river. But I see it further states it was near San Fernando - which is south of the border

This incident has the earmarks of a false flag.

I was thinking the same thing. Just had some threads on here with that guy talking about how the cartels operate, saying it's a standing order that they leave people alone in the US, leave Americans alone in Mexico etc.

If Trump is going to close down Ukraine, the MIC will want a war somewhere.

IED, not targeted.

More like protecting their stomping grounds. They didn't throw it at this guy, he drove over it.

Plus, cartels kill Americans in the US. They also took over apartment complexes.

This is why you didn't win the election.

n an interview with Channel 5 News, a Tamaulipas state police spokesperson said the IEDs are placed by organized crime to keep opposing factions off their territory.

Last month, an IED destroyed a pick-up truck from Mexico’s federal water agency near Rio Bravo.

Why an IED and not just shoot the guy if the cartel had beef with him?

This should indeed elicit a very violent, and sustained, response.

HOWEVER....

Make damn sure this rancher was involved with the cartels as an associate or member of a rival cartel first.

American lives should not be risked, much less lost, over the death of a rival cartel soldier.

Just make sure. Once you are sure, unleash hell.

They should give license to kill to all landholders along the border for any and all trespassers.

It’s them or us, can’t just let them come in and plant IEDs.

Letters of marque / reprisals.

Changed my mind. If it happened in Mexico, it's not a US problem.
