I am Catholic and I plan to teach my girls that evolution is how we got from a single cell organism to where we are today. Now, how did chemicals (which cannot evol) form a single cell organism? That's another topic.

Eta: in my Catholic high school, we learned evolution in biology and intelligent design / creationism in religion. There should be no teaching of ID or Cre in public school, period. Let the parents teach it at home.

Well the more he tells, the more the troll becomes obvious so he probably shouldn't push it too far.

This describes Baton Rouge to a T on a smaller scale.

I blame Katrina doubling and tripling the population of BR. The streets and interstates here are absolutely strained with bottleneck everywhere and won't improve until we get a loop and new bridges.

You must have gone to school in Mississippi. Your reading comprehension is severely lacking. OP is fake news.

A scientific theory that is based on evidence and is pretty much accepted by anyone who isn't a religious nut job

I read the article that seems few have.

First challenging theories is what science does best. Second I could find nothing that said evolution would not be taught as the predominate theory in science.

quote:

t’s not clear whether any Texas teacher is teaching creationism or intelligent design in the classroom. Multiple court rulings have upheld the legality of teaching evolution over opposing theories. The Texas Science Teachers Association also discourages the teaching of creationism and intelligent design because they lack scientific evidence. “In each of the changes that we made we were careful to word them … to make sure that doesn’t occur,” board member Marty Rowley, R-Amarillo, said.

Teaching about questions and opposing theories concerning evolution should 100% be taught in the classroom. It should take no more than one class period.

You continue to be among top tier on OT and PoliBoard. And SEC rant. Only rivaled by BamaScoop, but his shtick is inherently compromised by the attribute of having to be an extreme redneck at all times.

Zach is a big believer in Natural Selection. Proof:

Women don't inherit hemophilia (they just carry it) because the first girl born with it will die at age 11 before passing the gene on.

Similarly, women don't inherit baldness because no man will have sex with them to spread the trait.

The same goes for why women don't have thick hair on their chests.

There are no black bunny rabbits in the arctic. The predators took care of that.

It was basically a semantics compromise to placate all the Bible thumpers on the local education boards. In practice in doesn't result in any serious classroom challenge to evolution.

That's what I got from the article as well. .

Right, because adhering to a worldview with thousands of years of history is "redneck"

Good. If they can't teach Christianity in schools, atheism shouldn't be allowed to be taught either
