Texas begins flying “migrants” to sanctuary cities with first flight to Chicago

Merry Christmas, neighbors!
Fox News

The state of Texas has started flying migrants to sanctuary cities, with the first flight arriving in Chicago on Tuesday evening, Fox News has learned – marking an escalation of Gov. Greg Abbott’s previous strategy of bussing migrants to ease the pressure on the border state.
Fox is told that the first flight left El Paso Tuesday afternoon with 120 migrants on board and arrived at Chicago’s O’Hare airport later in the day. Sources in Abbott’s office told Fox that all migrants signed voluntary waivers, as they do with the buses.
The decision was partially in response to Chicago’s interference of the buses traveling to the sanctuary city. The city has launched lawsuits against companies transporting the migrants.
The move from Abbott is an escalation from the strategy in place since April 2022 when he began bussing migrants first to Washington, D.C., and later expanded it to include other cities with "sanctuary" policies that forbid or limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.
Abbott’s office said this week that the state has bused over 82,900 migrants to cities, including D.C., New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver and Los Angeles. Abbott has said the operation provides "vital relief" to border towns and has promised to keep doing it "until [President] Biden secures the border."

Meanwhile, the chaos at the border itself continues with enormous numbers of migrant encounters. The daily record for encounters was broken this week when more than 12,600 migrants were encountered in a single day.
Customs and Border Protection sources told Fox News on Wednesday that December total migrant encounters have exceeded 190,000 and are on track to break another record for the highest monthly total – which was 269,000 in September.
Sources told Fox that agents are averaging around 10,000 encounters a day, and Mexican sources say more are on the way.

We are in the cold war portion of the 2nd civil war. I just we wouldn't be sending the left's future soldiers to them. Make them stay in Mexico.

Fly 'em air cargo, they don't need seats.
Day and A Half Late.

When they come in you give them a list of places they can go and tell them they can either go or go to jail and returned. And..."sign here"
Democrats not understanding how all of this is just anti-American is either pure stupidity or nefarious gaslighting. No in between.

Via train would be ideal to see how determined they are

If he can fly them to Chicago he can fly them to Mexico City. What a cuck state Texas is. All he is doing is enabling/moving illegal immigrants further into the country.

Dude, he needs their permission to send them to Chicago, NYC or wherever. They aren’t going to consent to going back south.

I feel you. It’s frustrating beyond measure.
But the law is clear: States do not have authority to send individuals considered to be in the country illegally back to Mexico (or to any other country), since immigration enforcement and policy in the US fall under the jurisdiction of the federal government.
Deportation involves legal processes (carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement [ICE]) subject to federal laws, international agreements, and constitutional protections—including due process rights for individuals facing deportation.
Per US law, Texas can play a role in supporting federal immigration enforcement efforts, but they cannot independently decide to deport individuals. Any changes or modifications to laws and regulations have to be made at the federal level.
This is why it’s vital to keep these people out of the country to begin with so we can avoid the exact situation we’re in. Once illegals step foot on US soil, it’s damn hard to send them back, and fedgov knows it … which is why they are cutting through the concertina wire Texas has placed along the border.
The US has abandoned its Constitutional duty to protect states from invasion. I’m no Abbott defender, but he’s doing just about all he can legally do to protect Texans.

hey, ronricks -
WTF is he supposed to do? Line 'em up against a wall and gun them down?
Chicago is a great place to send them. Along w/ all the other "sanctuary cities".
I'm sure that you could welcome them and house/feed them in your bammer trailer.

I may not agree with Abbott on everything, but he’s knocking this out of the park IMO.
Make these sanctuary cities put their money where their mouth is. They always cry foul.

There was a large thread the other day about how allowing these immigrants on flights was seeding a national TB outbreak, or something like that. Thread
So is it good that they are flying? or is it part of the evil plan to destroy us all?

Agreed.
Combined … Abbott, Patrick, and Paxton are single-handedly fighting this war—and make no mistake about it: This is indeed an invasion not immigration.
To saddle Abbott and/or Texas with the total collapse that’s occurring along the nation’s international border is an exercise in misplaced blame.

Gotta spread the wealth.
Why let Washington District of Criminals have all the fun?
Wouldn’t want to leave out any of the more benevolent sanctuary cities.

That's akin to using a dixie cup to empty a rowboat with a leak. The water is only gonna come back, it makes no difference. Shoveling their asses to liberal cities at least forces big cities beyond the border to realize the problem is REAL and decisions must be MADE.
