Dude, to an extent it's some dry humor on his part. Objectively, no doubt he realizes Pascal's Wager is absurd. NOT saying believers are absurd, just that it's a lousy reason.
Scott is pragmatic. Probably thinks it's bullshite, but why not have fun with it. I'm sure he's touched by people praying for him, this is probably his attempt to meet them halfway.

No, the way she fell was not at all odd. BUT, I do concede she is oddly disconnected from her surroundings. Arms at side, oblivious to the fact that she is almost surrounded. So yeah, AI is a possibility.
