For a primer, you sure have no idea wfat you are talking about.

Let’s start with the fact that this doesn’t apply to real estate, much less your principal residence.

Second, it would only be on the unrealized appreciation in the year.

The idea is bad enough, we don’t need to make crap up.

What about next year?

Huh?

Yeah, what about next year when your unrealized gain is STILL $250k?

Another $50k?

A tax on unrealized capital gains is as stupid an idea as has ever been proposed, but the quote above belies a complete lack of understanding of accounting.

Once the initial tax was paid the new basis would be $500,000. No capital gains would be owed the next year unless it appreciated further.

The whole idea is ridiculous.

A "tax on unrealized capital gains" is just a fancy term for "wealth tax".

Kind of sounds like an estate tax, no?

An estate tax is a wealth tax.

If you’re dumb as shite, I’m sure that’s exactly what it sounds like.

An estate tax is a tax on wealth.

Are you dumb enough to disagree?

An estate tax is tax on the transfer of property at death.

If you want to continue to be dumb as shite, we can do this for three or four more posts.

We're already taxed enough. They need to stop spending.

It would. But it won’t happen. Everyone bent the knee for Covid and allowed an election to be stolen.

Just don’t pay it. When they come to seize your stuff or arrest you for unpaid taxes then give them your bullets at 300fps.

Can anybody provide a link where she states this in a speech? I'd like to know exactly what she said.

Sort of? An estate tax is levied on the property of the deceased. You're dead, the government can't do anything to you.

You can get around an estate tax by moving your assets into an irrevocable trust.

Footnote: The current exemption is on estates valued at $13.61M or less, but this exemption is set to sunset at the end of 2025.

The Dems are so stupid. This would 100 percent kill the stock market. If you want to tax unrealized cap gains then no one is going to invest a dollar.

It’s such an odd campaign to move further and further left instead of toward the middle.

Trump is over here being the first republican to start to gather in the abused democrats. Usually it’s a one way street with the mittens and Cheney and other fake republicans hanging out with the left. Trump has flipped the script.

So instead of working back toward the middle comrade is running left

This is how you get the masses to move into apartments and end single-family dwellings, which is their actual goal.

Nope. Wall St tells D.C. what’s up, this is just “rich people bad” political theatre while they like their pockets with wall st money behind closed doors.

You think these legislators want to pay more taxes on their insider trading capital gains ? No sir

Ignore the "promise" it's only for people making more than $100 million. Income tax was originally only on the top 1% of Americans.

So ignore part of it and get scared about the other part?
