I imagine US intelligence assets across the globe are puckered up about now, thinking how horrid our info was and how we allowed those who trusted us to pay the price.

the Southern border has been lost and now this fiasco.
It's scary to think how many of these terrorists are here now because we cant be bothered to protect our borders. Next terror attack on US soil is all on this administration and all of the people that voted for it and have ignored the border crisis.

I'm not posting any of the links yet, but there are reports that US forces have fired on civilians at the airport. I hope it is all bullshite.

CNN is saying 4,000 Embassy employees are still in Afghanistan. No word on how many are still at the Embassy, if any.
A) why in the absolute frick would we EVER have 4,000 embassy employees there.
B) why in the absolute frick would we STILL have 4,000 embassy employees on the ground at this juncture of the pullout.
C) I wonder if “embassy employees” includes CIA officers and assets.

You’d think eventually we would learn to evacuate civilian workers BEFORE all of the armed soldiers

Don't completely run with this line. There were people who warned that this shitshow was a distinct possibility. They were not listened to.

To be fair multiple administrations let these people out. If we have a 9/11 and the planner or orchestrator was once in US custody, expect heads to roll.

Hey dipshit, this is a message board. No one on here has the power or ability to do anything about this. We are going to discuss different aspects of the situation and make observations on the things that led us here. Quit bleeding out of your vagina and trying to play hall monitor in the thread.

Tends to happen when you pull your troops out in the dead of night, without letting your allies know, while you still have thousands of civilians in the city.

People thinking the government failed in its goals with the War on Terror have a fundamental misunderstanding of the goals of a government.
You think the government is working to protect you. This is false.
The goal of government (and all collective organizations) is to grow.
Mission Accomplished

I understand something of why we are leaving. What I don’t understand is why we are leaving like this: surprised and in seeming delusion.

Was the plan to leave all these people on the ground with no protection? I mean regardless of the incompetence of the Afghan army, that’s a dangerous place to leave thousands of people unprotected.

State department did say everyone is out of embassy, at airport.

Excellent book to read if you haven't already. Higgs was on point with that book.
