It should be the fricking US President doing this, you know, the leader of the free world?
The Brits, Australians, Germans… all scrambling to evacuate their embassy and people with this tiny error. They are speaking to their own citizens. We are waiting for our “leader” to speak.

His bitch wife said something about him being able to do his job from anywhere.

Latest: the agreement between the US & Taliban is apparently letting the US leave ASAP from the military side and that no Afgans can be evacuated. The North side of the airport is now an enclave guarded by US military and has some Western embassy staff. At the Kabul Airport, the civilian side is separate and under Taliban control, and accessible to anyone in Afganistan.
The military side is guarded and run by US/NATO/Turkey. In order for people to cross over to the military side they had to be signed up to get shuttled across with a military contractor. There are no longer shuttling Afgans to the Military side now.
Also reports that the Taliban have seized control of the Air traffic control tower which is why no flights are coming in or out of Kabul. Apparently, the Taliban seized control of the tower 8 hours ago.
All indications are that the US is about to cut and run under this agreement leaving everyone to be slaughtered per reports.

The Taliban and US have reached a deal to ensure that evacuations from Kabul's airport can take place without interference from the group according the AP.
1) frick this administration for needing a "deal" to get Americans out.
2) Let's not act as though they will reneg on this "deal" as soon as it's opportune for them to do so.
and most importantly
3) WHAT ABOUT THE AMERICANS WHO CANNOT GET TO THE AIRPORT WHO'VE BEEN TOLD TO SHELTER IN PLACE?

345 today. Nothing but silence from them the entire weekend this was happening though.
The only reason he's even showing up is that even the progressive press were getting angry the entire administration was ignoring them for over three days.

It's unbelievable that every Democrat president's wife is always included as some integral part of their administration. Like Bill Burr said - all you're doing is fricking the guy in charge

Next week? The media will have forgotten all about this when she gets back from vacation.

It's sad, when Trump was President youtube had videos from the news agencies every time they disliked something he said or did on the home page, but the only videos news related on my feed today are covid related. Nothing about the issues in Afghanistan.
Unreal.
Unreal.

I can't imagine the spin being cooked up right now at the offices of ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN

I get pissed when partners and board members call on a Sunday during dinner to ask a question then bs for 30 minutes after. My husband said it’s his job to have a good relationship with them and that’s part of so… basically, shut up

Link?
I don't know how many troops are on the ground at the moment but 7K troops for HALF of a one runway, two terminal building Airport. Is fricking crazy.
Also, the FAA upgraded their tower radar in 2010. We've helped this country so much.

Unbelievably No! Our military does not have control over the tower which is why all of the rescue commercial aircraft have turned around and have not departed or arrived.
The Westerners who are left behind will have to remain hidden for a while until one of the international special forces teams can find a way to rescue them at a later date.

Saw some Twitter comment that the military couldn't focus on keeping the taliban at bay because they're too busy keeping the American taliban from storming the capitol
