Farewell, smug bastard coal-bear

quote:

Stephen Colbert, the smug host of CBS’s “The Late Show,” is a classic example of why echo chambers are doomed to fail.

Colbert’s approach to late-night comedy was to offer snarky solace to his fellow progressives while hurling nightly insults at the tens of millions of Americans who don’t agree with his far-left politics.

Not surprisingly, that business model, designed to regularly tick off the 46% of Americans who identify as Republicans, eventually failed.

Liberals have been in high dudgeon for months after CBS announced that it planned to cancel Colbert’s testament to self-indulgence, but the comedian has only himself – and the sycophants who surrounded him – to blame.

Well also the Skydance merger. I'm sure they was the main reason.

Anyone with a brain knew the real reason his show wasn't going to make it was because of money.

This was Colbert's finest moment. Gay dudes (quite likely) dressed up as syringes dancing behind the TDS afflicted dumb arse.

But now he's going to write the next Lord of the Rings movie.

Yes, really.

He killed an entire show and he’s being praised, by some, as a kind of hero martyr.

Pathetic.

I had to Google that.

Great, another movie that will get the DEI cast treatment

I love Tolkien but I won't be watching that garbage if he's writing.

This scumbag has a house on Sullivan's Island right across the harbor from us. Shouldn't his "people" be eating him alive for his net worth and supporting a red state instead of, say, California?

I guess, since he grew up in Charleston, they are willing to overlook it.

I love how malleable and broad the explanations can become. So maybe red states and conservatives are somewhat palatable to him.

This may be one of the best collateral damage hits from President Trump winning the election... NPR & Public anything being another.

The tax policies are. Just like every idiot from the Northeast that moves south and then decides they want to make the area more """progressssive"""
