Yes, really.
I'm not saying he won't frick it up, but he is a massive LotR fan/nerd and pretty big Tolkein purist. If the last like 5-6 years hadn't happened, I'd have had decent hopes for him doing something with LotR.
However, he's become such a charicature of a person at this point it probably will be absolute shite either way.

The days of Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, Letterman, even Conan O'Brien are long past. The humor is gone.
