He has a big issue called being honest. In today’s world you have to tell people what they want to hear not what the truth is.

He wont win with that kind of mindset that's for damn sure.
Republicans have had the entirety of the US government for two years and not a single fricking thing has been done to fix the economy. The first step in winning back trust is acknowledging they fricked up the last two years by sitting with their thumbs up their asses.

What a stupid fricking take and he's just holding water for Trump.
The economy was in a better place last year than it is now. You know what changed? America First went out the window and Trump decided to follow his predecessors in fricking the American people via the Middle East.

I’d prefer DeSantis or Rubio.

I like Rubio a lot but the Cuba issue will get resolved under him. Not sure how that would look. My personal theory is there are letting Russia drown in this war for awhile to have them say frick it take Cuba off of our hands

I love threads like this.
He's the VP. If he runs, he's getting the nomination. You do understand this, right? You also should understand that Rubio isn't going to run against him if he runs, which I believe he's specifically mentioned. Also, you should understand that Ron likely knows he has one shot to be POTUS and running against the sitting VP isn't the way to get it.
JD is 1 billion percent going to be the nominee. So whatever hangups you have about him, you probably need to prepare for what is a guaranteed inevitably.
If you want to focus your anger on things you CAN change, find out why congress is so much arse that they're literally just gifting power to an enormously unpopular Democratic Party.

I think they’ve got the Aggie vote wrapped up regardless though.

So you hold people accountable by what they say in stump speeches?
Posted on 10/21/26 at 8:50 am to alabamabuckeye
I dunno, 16 years of Republicans in office sounds pretty str8 to me.

Imagine wanting Rubio like apparently some do after this Iran debacle that will destroy Republicans this election lol.
Why anyone would want a neocon roots man.. well, I guess some will never learn.
But yes, Vance has a very difficult road. His future has essentially been destroyed by this iran disaster. He has to go around and try to smear lipstick on a pig, even though he was the voice that opposed this mistake.
If he criticizes the war when he runs, Trump will mercilessly attack him. If he continues to try to defend it, that’s a hopeless and losing stand. So he’s basically screwed. And it’s a shame for some, like me, because I think Vance is our best choice moving forward. President Vance wouldn’t get us mired in foreign wars and would be a stable hand on the government. A poor kid from a broken home who is very smart and had the discipline and vision to achieve profound success. I really like that story.
Rubio is a serious problem. His past in neocon politics and inconsistent views on immigration are going to make it difficult for some, like me, to support him.
I think the derailment of the Trump train over iran has created an opening for someone who was previously dead: DeSantis. I think he has a chance now and moving forward after this disastrous year for Republicans. His record has stayed strong and unscathed by being in Florida and outside the meltdown coming out of DC.

I am starting to think you should wait for the primary.

Trump is hesitant about Vance too
