Because they hate Christians. I would honestly have more respect for Spielberg if he had said that it would make anyone question their faith. Idk if he was being interviewed by a Christian magazine, so that is why he targeted Christianity. There just seems to be an uptick on picking and calling out Christians more in the last decade.
