Leaders from Southern University and LSU have signed the A&M Agenda, a commitment to work together over the next five years to leverage the two school’s resources for the betterment of the city, the state and the region. LSU President William Tate IV and Southern President Dennis Shields were joined Tuesday by local and state leaders, including Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and Gov. John Bel Edwards, to tout the collaboration. The signing event was part of a week-long celebration of the partnership between the two universities that will culminate in the LSU vs. Southern football game Saturday.

Here’s The Advocate’s take:

quote:

"It comes down to money with these things. LSU is a [predominantly White institution] and has a lot of more money than Southern, which gives them an upper hand by providing better resources," Southern student Christian Humphrey-Nash said this week. "However, I can’t put my HBCU in the dark, when the students voice their opinions at Southern we are heard. Southern has been improving each semester with new resources on campus thanks to our Student Government Association."

This is why I have been against bringing the Texas schools into the SEC from the beginning. Those that remember the SWC days remember that this stupid shite is their MO and what eventually leads to conferences being dissolved.

They get to "feel" better about being a racist institution that has kept the black man down for far too long...

Either embrace it, or quit supporting your school of choice like I did...

Someone connected with them gets their beam wet kn whatever gets transferred to Southern.

Ralph Slaughter has to be kicking himself that this scam wasn’t in place while he was head of Southern.

Here we go. Instead of letting cream rise to the top and win, we drop to the lowest common denominator and loose.

"Cream" really? Couldn't you have chosen another analogy, like separating wheat from chaff? Anything?

Why is it called the “A&M” Agenda? Is it modeled on the partnership between TAMU and Blinn?

Ostensibly because LSU is an A&M and so is Southern.

In this case, though, it is because LSU is getting bent over and fricked up the arse like a Yell Leader.

Interesting. I knew that LSU was originally a land grant college, but I did not know that of Southern.

Thx

I would like to know the details of the deal and how to follow the money.

This seems like another money laundering scheme.
