I’ve seen conflicts that started off with lots of reciprocal smack talk and eventually evolved into intense military action.
Not sure I recall seeing one that kicked off with intense military action and ….eventually evolved into prolonged reciprocal smack talk.
This is shaping up to be perhaps the strangest conflict in Earth’s long history of conflicts.

We are and we aren't basically. We control what goes in and out of the strait so in that sense we are. However Iran can also still strike ships transmitting the Strait and because of that is making insurance on ships so high that they aren't going through the Strait. In that sense they also somewhat control the Strait.

Yep.
Notice removing sanctions is always top of the list, they mean their own personal money that has been frozen as well as the country's cash.
They are done financially. Even the military and IRGC front lines are missing pay, thats when you know it is really really bad.
