I'm talking these things and to a lesser extent a quad drone threat that drops small charges. These FPVs even loaded down can move 2-3 miles in a suburban area and carry 2-4lbs of cargo. In a crowded rowdy place they won't hear it till it's within 150-200ft. Human planket thing SS does might not even be helpful then too.

I hope they have electronic jammers for drones there or some other precautions because as they operate now they're completely vulnerable to an FPV attack and at night I think even a quad-drop style attack.

IMO, if CIA wanted to kill Trump, they could absolutely do so. But then again, so can most public figures frankly who show up at these pre-planned outdoor events allowing perp time to prepare and setup.

Here is question for the brainiacs out there.

Why is tech not being used by our protectors?

God.

You are correct.

I really had not thought of this.

Seriously.

I have a feeling the days of the outdoor rally are OVER

If you follow any war footage coming out of Ukraine from both sides, FPV drones are very effective at targeting infantry.

From the clownshow I saw at Bulter rally, they would absolutely have no means to deal with it.

A couple of weeks ago I thought the Secret Service was a high speed and technologically advanced organization. Now I don’t know if they can walk up a 15 degree pitch on a 1 story building, lol.

It's too dangerous for our SS agent to ride those tiny drones. - USSS Director Cheatle

Seriously, if SS even had the most basic consumer drone for $199.95, they'd be able to see the little incel on the roof 20 minutes before and likely spook him. They'd also be able to clearly see he has a gun.

The level of incompetence and complacency is that of a complicit negligence.

Well biden has been allowing hundreds of mid east types to cross our southern border so can the USSS protect against this type of attack ?

While this is true . The US government is working on anti drone technology as we speak. There already is drone to drone technology, shoulder use jamming technology, as well as jamming technology similar to radar jamming in use today.

Just as in the past as one weaponry technology advances a counter technology advances. This is bk different.

They were and still are a high speed and technologically advanced organization but they have the ability to choose when not to be that as well.

We learned that less than a week ago.

Thought the response would look like something out of men in black, not something off Comedy Central.

I would bet they do have some type of anti drone defense. I would also bet that whatever "cutting edge" protection is available, it isn't deployed for Trump.
Those people have been trying to eliminate Trump for 8 years. If Trump was "removed" they would be very happy.

Why would anyone believe they wouldn't afford Trump the best protection??????
Tell me I'm wrong.

It will be deemed too dangerous to use by the secret service at least in protecting Republicans.

Exactly. Complicit is hiding behind incompetency.

Military has technology that will block and shut down cell phone signals for a certain radius around convoys. I would imagine the SS has something similar that can block stuff like this from getting inside the perimeter. I’m not sure how drones operate but there should be some tech available to handle this.

I have learned a thing or two from Dan Bongino in the last week. They use drones and other advanced technology, but the preparation and execution are very poor. He is frustrated at what the Secret Service has become and its level of degradation. Everything woke turns to shite.

@SantaFe

There's a low but very real risk of a terrorist who comes in through Mexico gets his hands on a MANPAD or any style anti-aircraft portable military grade weapon can definitely target a plane with officials.

The worrisome thing about FPV drones is someone can put one together for $300 in a kit or anyone can buy a used one for $800-900 and with enough training a perp can target an airplane that is either landing or taking off. Or a motorcade. Anyone with reasonable amount of intelligence who is willing to commit terrorism/assassinations can do this with consumer items and things at a hardware store.

I think Trump needs to forget outdoor rallies till the end of his hopefully 2nd term. The threat to plane and motorcade from FPV attack is smaller but not negligible, however I can't think of any immediate solution. I guess we'll just have to pray and hope it doesn't happen (not super comforting, but it is what is).
