Most grocers in an urban area like Seattle don't even own their building, they lease. Most leases have condemnation clauses that if the building is seized for eminent domain, the lease ends. The number of chains that would like to leave certain inner metros but can't because terminating leases is more cost prohibitive vs maintaining modest losses isn't small
Commercial tenants also often have termination rights if the property they're renting from is seized. Including moving expenses for the inventory they'd want shipped to other regional locations and any capital assets
This would end up being an economic win for any grocery involved and further hollow Seattle out. Go for it commies
