I live in District 2. It was close to 50-50.
So, the 80% black District in Alabama (7) will also be split up, or will they let it stay as it is?

I can't even drive home from work, without missing great things happening. Michel Berry just stating we can hope to net up to 8-10 more GOP in Congress.
Unbelievably fantastic news !!

Let me guess, the 3 dissenting votes were Kagan, Wise Latina, and KKKBJ.

I’m confused, Alabama was required to have two black majority districts?
It’s great seeing the scheme to use the courts to create more districts based on race blow up spectacularly in Dems faces.

Since it's late in the election process, this seems bush league. But you know what?
I don't care.

The Dim women on the court are so retarded. You dissent against the original decision related to Callais, fine. But it’s pretty clear Alabama has the right to do this after that decision. Dissenting against this one makes you look petty.

Like they ruled last Monday after the Louisiana decision the justices said it would be unfair to make Louisiana use an unconstitutional map for another election cycle.
Remember we used to have a “jungle primary” in the fall. So we are used to having a late election.

I think for this upcoming midterm they will leave the 7th because it will take some major redrawing of the other districts to turn it into a lean R district. They can easily push the pre-2023 map, that flips district 2 back to R, and get it out in time for there to be minimal issues with the primaries.
Hopefully they'll work on that 7th district before the next major election cycle.
