He was a long-term, slow to reform cigarette smoker, though.
He has good genetics, otherwise. His grandfather was the oldest practicing lawyer in Missouri - I think past his 100th birthday.

Celebrating the death of arguably the most powerful conservative voice in America.

Just caught the last few sentences - I love the man - Remember the very first time I heard of his name - and it was a few years before I actually heard his program - have been hooked ever since - from shortly before the Dan's Bake Sale.

Now take advantage of President Trump's right to try legislation and find a way to stay with us el rushbo.

I sure hope someone like Michael Berry can fill his role if this takes him out. Rush has a unique understanding of the left's apparatus and each individual, and this gives him a keen ability to call them out for -exactly- what it is they're all about... and they haaaaate his arse for it.
I doubt anyone can fulfill the role he's played all these years, but you have to have someone with a really solid foundation and a similar understanding of the system on both sides.
Damn sure hope he pulls through. Stage 4 isn't always a quick death sentence.

Some background info. Rush started working in radio back in 1969. I started a few years earlier. During that time it was important to have a resonant voice, preferably low pitched. If you didn't have it through nature you got it with cigarettes. That's why everyone at our station smoked except me.
Cigarette tar coats the vocal chords causing them to be thicker. That = a deeper voice. If you ever heard a 60 year old woman who smoked all her life you know this is true.
He became addicted to the nicotine and we all know what happens next. Very sad that he didn't reject the peer pressure at that station.

Rush sucks as a media personality, but NO ONE deserves lung cancer.
Hopes for successful treatment and full recovery.

If he hasn’t, now is the time he needs to take to his knees, confess that Jesus is lord, lay down his burdens and understand that it’s all in God’s hands and will work out as it was always meant to be.
May God bless him and may the Holy Spirit make the truth be known to him in ways only it can.

Rush is very influential (obviously)
I think you could make a pretty strong argument that while he's often times held the line for the right in a very helpful way, he was also on the front edge of a style that has gotten out of control and now helps to preclude substantive discussion and civility.
A lot of blowhards on the left have Rush to thank for their roadmap to professional success. I suspect they'll "thank" him by snarky commentary on his declining health.

I'm not sure how anyone, even a hack, can say this.
He is an UNBELIEVABLE media personality. Literally, without question, one of the best of all time.
You just don't like his message, which is fine, to each his own. Try a little bit of honesty.
