Remember the media and Hollywood elite going in deep on how close Reagan brought us to nuclear war with the Soviet Union? I do.

Remember the made for TV movie made for broadcast media, I think on NBC, portraying a nuclear exchange between the Soviet Union and the United States? Jason Robards was the lead actor. It was called The Day After. I do.

What’s happening now with the media, academia, political elites, basically all the people who are better than all of us, is no different. Trump is a threat to democracy. He must be stopped at all cost.

Putin cares way too much about his legacy (in Russia, not in the rest of the world) and Russia’s existence to even attempt a nuclear attack on the US. Russia’s already hanging by a thread, dropping a nuke on the US would end Russia.

NATO has been rattling their sabres in Russia’s direction for years. At least three NATO nation leaders are openly speaking of deploying NATO troops against Russian forces. And I’m supposed to be shocked and offended when Russia goes “This is what will happen if you attack Russia “?

I see similar thoughts expressed on occasion and it’s always an interesting angle there are apparently many who believe there’s gonna be something left habitable and worth invading and/or annexing around these glowing craters or that there would be forces left to do so.

That’s not how any of this would work in the event of a global nuclear exchange in this modern era.

Growing up, the Times Picayune newspaper in New Orleans would periodically print a front page story about the impact of a nuclear weapon hitting New Orleans. They would include a graphic showing concentric circles spreading out from Ground Zero and the damage you’d experience in each zone.
