To Tucker and guest; Limiting it to the Ottoman Empire? Really?
Why are there very few if any Christian Churches and Christian faithful still living in the Muslim Middle East today?
ETA - and the ones there today, whether Christian, Zoroastrian as Freddy Mercury's family are from Iran, Baha'i, Coptic, Agnostic are persecuted, raped, killed and forced to pay a tax if allowed to live.
The late Ottomans were not like the early Ottomans regarding conquest and killing in the name of Islam. Other than that, Radical Islam will kill the infidels. That is what they do.

I am highly against 3rd world migration to Europe but this is blatantly not true. I have lived half my adult life traveling for work. Spent time in Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Italy, Sicily, Spain, Austria, Germany, Montenegro. to name a just a few. Lived in Saudi for 4 years. For invaders and conquerors, they the Arabs were not raping everyone.

I don't know which religion did the most raping, but when the Muslims controlled Spain it was a much more tolerant country than when the Christians controlled it. Muslims let Jews stay and worship as they wanted. They also let Christians worship as they wanted. But when the Christians retook power, they destroyed mosques and synagogues and kicked out non-Christians. Well they didn't destroy all the mosques. The really nice ones were turned into cathedrals.
