Can someone explain to me why it’s a good idea to keep illegals on Medicaid?
I can see the argument they without insurance they’ll drive costs up. But at some point you have to draw a line.

The dem parliamentarian said it had to have 60 votes to pass. The GOP could have told her to go screw herself, but they didn't. She doesn't have any real power and can only recommend.

I don’t understand as an American taxpayer why democrats would want it. I just don’t understand. In no foreign country / continent can we go to and receive aid and support. We have to prove we are self-supportive. And other guidelines/rules to consider if one want to immigrate. Why are they doing this?

Them getting coverage isn't keeping any costs down. You, the tax payer, are still paying. How do you wish to pay? Increased taxes or higher health care costs? Insurance isn't magic. It does not bring down costs to anyone. If we went cash for service, prices would plummet. It likely increases costs. My family pays roughly $22k/year in premiums for which there is a $9k family deductible, after which there is an 80%/20% split. Everytime I need to access health care, I think to myself: "do I really need this? Is it cheaper for me to go to the Minute Clinic at CVS? Maybe I will use steri-strips on my kids cut instead of stitches". The poor/undocumented on Medicaid think: "Its free to me, so why not?!" Making this formula worse is the shitty health our poor people are in. Largely because this country subsidizes poor health choices.
