The tax cuts have been there for years, there are no addition tax cuts, except for tips and deduction on SS tax.
The repubs crow about 4 trillion in tax cuts which is already there, and the dems scream that there are 4 trillion holes due to tax cuts. One says tomato the other says tomato.

It's not put in place in 10 years. It starts with the Biden buget, which is what we are under now. The reductions are the amount per year added up.
Trumps budget is will come out around Sept.

As most of you know, I only have the comprehension of a 5-year-old. But the headline "It's the largest mandatory spending cuts in history. $1.6 Trillion."
Is not quoted from Burchett. What he says is, "Largest tax cuts in American history."
We already borrow almost 2 trillion a year to meet our budget, which means the taxes collected aren't enough to cover it. The only factual way to look at this, is we will borrow $1.6 Trillion less over ten years. Borrowing less does not equal a tax cut, because our taxes don't cover our budget. And the debt will only continue to grow. It's only numbers in a column that Congress seems to ignore year after year as we hurdled toward economic collapse.

Huge cuts in Medicaid and social investments + grossly irresponsible unpaid-for tax cuts. How is this not reprehensible? The country I was brought up in... just fell apart and died.
The cuts to medicaid are for people who would literally rather die (be kicked of medicaid) than work a few hours a week.
The tax cuts were put in place years ago, there are no new tax cuts except a larger deduction for social security and tips.
Now Ill grant you there are some girls at the Taj or Cheetah3 that might be high income earners in the tips category, but I doubt most people getting tips fall in that category

or its really a 160B less in spending that was forecasted and the total spending still actually went up...
Clowns, all of them
Clowns:We are cutting spending
Normies: But you are spending more than before
Clowns: But we cut the amount of the increase
Normies: so you cut imaginary, unrealized spending?
Clowns: Exactly!
Normies: But you are spending more
Clowns: We are saving taxpayers money!!!
Normies: Hypothetical money. . .
Clowns: FISCAL CONSERVATISM!!!!

Sounds like my wife. "I bought some shite we didn't need because it was on sale, so we saved money!"

I think it's going to take 2 admins with the mind set of cutting spending. But I do think JJ has a point. A bill that slashes what we all want will never pass.
So you take steps towards it. You watch the effects on medicaid and adjust.
What people do not understand is that people like Massie demand it all or nothing. If that were doable, the blow back would crush the GOP and the dems will simply reverse it and that gets us nowhere.

Why does government vote on things and say, put in place ten years from now?
They do it because they know voters want big numbers but not the big change that comes from those big numbers. It sounds far more impressive to say, "we've cut $1.6 trillion in spending" than it is to say, "we've cut $160 billion in the estimated growth of spending". It allows them to play verbal slight-of-hand with the fact that spending is still going to grow.

Why does government vote on things and say, put in place ten years from now? how stupid is that? All it means to me is that there is no D or R and it's one big club and they allow themselves to get wins and losses but time to change losses to wins down the road. It's disgusting.
So they can have their cake and eat it too. Claim cuts and not impact their next election.

You few have a bad habit of being intentionally stupid.
You are not going to get what you claim to want in 1 bill. It's going to take time.
There really isn't a lot of self-awareness here, is there?

The kick in the head, I think the projections are based on the gdp growing 6% per year, ya gotta be kidding me

They cut $1.6 trillion out of the amount they wanted to increase spending, so now spending increases are only $2.7 trillion instead of $4.3 trillion. Because that's how spending cuts work, right guys?

You are being intentionally SLOW. Again, we have a spending issue. The cuts we want are not going to happen in 1 bill. It's not going to happen in 1 budget.
Just like the out of control spending did not get like this over night.
Please provide a single data point that would suggest that Trump will cut spending in any meaningful capacity. Or were you in a coma during his first term?
Posted on 5/22/25 at 12:47 pm to BCreed1
I want to see the break down of actual spending cuts vs elimination of tax rebates. My bet is on more revenue vs less spending.
