Fast forward to 2025. America "taking over" Gaza may be the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. I voted for Trump 3 times because he promised to keep us out of wars in the middle east.
There is no way this ends well. Muslims will never tolerate western countries owning any of their land. Not ever.
Nor will they accept any of the Gazans to immigrate to their lands.
I hope there is some way congress can block this. Otherwise the term quagmire wont do this mess justice.
That's the whole point. This is kicking the hornets nest to see what comes out. This will force all sorts of talks and negotiations

Its not hard for me to admit I was completely fooled by the reasoning for the Iraq War. I thought the muslims were starting to get organized against us and Saddam had WMDs. So we needed to go whip their arse so they didnt get us at home again.

I wasn't thrilled with it, but I bought the lies. And yes, there were LIES by the (6 ways from Sunday) intel agencies. Yellow Cake, Mobile WMD units? OK, sure. But not worthy of an invasion.

Going after al Qaeda and the Taliban for 9-11 was legit. The Cheney claims that Iraq 'might' harbor them and use the WMD we and Europe (The West) gave them access to for the Iran war were massively overblown.
We knew that then, we know it now, but what most NEVER bought into was the nation building BS which W and his buddies went full throttle forward with while telling us it was "necessary". It wasn't. It was no different than Obama and Biden grifting in Ukraine for $$$.

A lot of democrats were also cheering about the bombing of Baghdad in 2003. US resolve was still near the surface. Most people had no idea how bad of an idea it turned out to be. Including democrats.

It will be so relaxing on the beach with threats of suicide bombers and missiles. You’re either young or just plain stupid to think this will play out with relative peace. There will constant attacks and jihad waged against our involvement there.
