If MAGA wants to be convinced that a college degree is useless and digging ditches in summer heat is the way to go I for one is all for it. My children are competing for graduation placements at prestigious universities and you want your kids to clean my kids toilets.

Alright grandpa. You can open your pudding now.

No, the people who specialize in something else will be paid handsomely by your marketing and business majors who have to compete with tens of thousands of others for a salary because they cannot do anything anymore.

Look at how many business majors these universities are pumping out. Now look at how many tradesmen are retiring with little backfill.

Electricians, mechanics, plumbers, HVAC, etc will be making very good money from the gen z folks who cannot so much as change their own oil, replace a receptacle, put in a new thermostat, or replace a water heater.

All the while your “prestigious” university students will be worried about being replaced by foreign degree holders.

Ditch diggers and toilet cleaners. lol.

practical economic realities of complete isolationism

I'm not arguing for complete isolationism; however, if a world war were to break out, I'm perfectly comfortable with simply locking down our hemisphere militarily and using our navy to keep it at arm's length. I'm not saying that we couldn't source this or that mineral from abroad whenever possible, but I don't see the need to spend trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of American lives for them.

People have retreated to their bunkers and information silos. There’s no common reality anymore. A nation can’t function long term this way.

If you look at the actual statistics this has pretty much been going on for almost 45 years now. Nobody seems willing to do what it takes to stop it regardless of party affiliation.

I disagree that CO2 is the driving cause of global climate change, but it doesn’t have to be an either/or:

you can oppose the radical climate-change loons who say we will all die in 10 years if we don’t surrender to the U.N., while also NOT siding with greedy corporations that want to rape the earth.

Staggering debt will overwhelm all of the other issues. It has taken on a life of its own. No one, I repeat, NO ONE will address it. The laws of economy are every bit as real as the laws of gravity.

See y’all on the other side.

I will always be most concerned with what directly effects me.

So economy/inflation holds that honor.

Everything else is secondary. While still important, they don't directly involve my wallet.

There is a common reality for regular people who aren’t chronically online. Do your actual interactions reflect all the hysteria spouted here? Mine certainly don’t.

There is truth here.

Almost all of the constant hysteria comes from a small percentage of the population.

1. My kids not having any economic security or safe communities.

2. Everyone else’s kids not having economic security or safe communities.

3. Fortunes spent on foreign aid while American infrastructure is ignored.

Dude we may be able to provide the essentials to our people but if you are suggesting we could just sit out WW3 without it having major ramifications to the daily lives of Americans thats insane.

My triglycerides were over 400 three months ago. I got super worried and scared. Stopped fountain drinks and most sugar, started lifting heavy. Not they are 158.

My health is my concern right now. frick the world and all the plaques they are shoving down our throats!

1- The destruction of the dollar / inflation
2- The destruction of US Law by politics (OMB). When people obviously break the law with no consequences, then there is no law.

Word.

Personally, I’m stacking physical gold as history shows it to be the best concentrated store of economic value.

Obviously also need the requisite items to ensure it’s protection…

I really think we need to focus on reform starting from the local town level UP, not the other way around.

$35T in debt that everyone will happily acknowledge, but no one wants to discuss to whom, specifically, we owe this money.

Populism

Nationalism/Populism didn't put the US on the brink of collapse, the impending collapse is squarely on the shoulders of the "go along to get along" DC Uniparty Recucklicans.

Look at the performance of the Republican controlled House and Senate in 2016-2018 and the R controlled House 2022......the DC republicans have done absolutely zero to slow or reverse the Dim/Groomer agenda.
