Funny thing is if she wasn’t so all about her she would have retired and let Obama replace her but she knows more than any potential replacement so does on the court.

Your wife made an agreement with me just before she died that you'd take care of me for the rest of my life. Really... she did. When do I move in?

If reports of RBG's "last wish" are true, then she had a fundamental misunderstanding of her role. She didn't own her seat -- merely had the privilege of filling it for many, many years -- and had no business telling the political branches how it should be filled.

What made that old bag of dust think a new President was going to be installed?

he lost the popular vote. people need to stop saying this shite. we dont choose the president in this country, we just say our preference and an arcane system chooses the person.

First of all, the 'popular vote' isn't a fricking thing. It's simply a metric and determines nothing. It does not matter one iota.

Second, the Republicans hold a Senate majority and those positions were elected directly by the people. They are REALLY the 'deciders' when it comes to confirming a new justice, and they were chosen BY THE PEOPLE, aka their constituents. If the people did not choose to enact conservative/republican appointments and confirmations, they wouldn't have been elected and hold the majority.

Essentially, your "popular vote" argument is null and void.

I pray that on my death bed I am focused on my family and enjoying every last second of time with them and not worried about my job and who is going to fill my position at work. Incredibly sad if this is even true.

If it's in writing, by RBG, fine. Like my parents, they have things in writing. But if it's not then whatever her daughter says doesn't matter unless you're crazy.

Right. I just don't like people putting words in someone's mouth which seems so common. If she had retired and lived out the rest of her life, her feelings on it still wouldn't matter. Not her say.

If she did have a legit dying wish like that.. then I'm disgusted. It means that she put herself above the country and the supreme court. She believes that she has the right to dictate who takes her seat.

Interesting how some people believe that the SC has some type of power. SC has no power in enforcing its’ rulings (check Andrew Jackson). Also people install things like a windshield, not presidents.

"Isn't a fricking thing" but is "simply a metric" lol wtf non sense did I just read. I agree with you that it is simply a metric though!

My argument is that people should stop saying trump was chosen by the people. It's not even really based on argument though, it's based on a fact. He won an election which is not popular vote decided (hence, the arcane system). Two different things.

My original comment was about the president, not the senate. Here I agree with you.

She came out for Crooked Hillary in 2016 which is absolutely inappropriate for a SCOTUS justice
