Occupied Palestine, yes.
Mary was Palestinian, no.

Ruins threads? Do you even realize that the OP was framed as a debate? The OP of this thread brought someone's claim to the board and called it ludicrous when it is anything but. If you don't expect "bickering" to occur over this maybe you should go find something more your speed where everyone agrees with what is being stated.

1. Where is Nazareth?
2. You are proving my point.
It appears you are like a blind man at an orgy. Just feeling your way through this until you get it right.
You tell me, by what standard - time period, geographic location, political territory, religion - are you using to ascertain what Mary was considered.
The entirety of history and the Bible considers Mary Jewish. Not Palestinian. Nazareth, where Mary was from, is in modern day Israel, NOT palestine. Nazareth during the first centry was part of JUDEA.
So is your contention based on Herdotus only? You see what i'm getting at. You havent' cited a specific baseline other than Herodotus.
Ignoring all of this trivial shite, the 1 unflinching constant is that Mary is/was considered Jewish and that is not up for debate.
What Mamdani is doing is trying to do, which again is not up for debate, is rewrite history, and frame Mary as a "palestinian seeking refuge, exactly like today." Which is ignorant and idiotic when under NO CIRCUMSTANCES would Mary be considered Palestinian either by today's standard, or 1st century CE standards, or by religious standards, Islamic standards, Christian standards, Jewish standards.
The only possible "standard" you can come up with is that a 4th century Greek historian mentioned that area as "Phillistine/Palestine" but even the Romans at the time, who actually controlled the area, named it JUDEA.
You are trying to apply a very narrow window to ascribe Mary as Palestinian, and that window will be, nor has ever been used to attribute anything else in history.
So you have to ignore all of history to Mamdani's lie that Mary was Palestinian.
All of this, and you are still going to argue against logic to be contrarian. So, have fun with that.
2. You are proving my point.
quote:
Ethnic/Religious: She was Jewish (Judean/Israelite by heritage and faith). “Jew” at that time referred to people from Judea or those practicing Second Temple Judaism.
Geographic: Residents of the area might be called Judeans. The broader term “Palestinian” (from Palaistine) existed in Greek usage earlier but was not the primary administrative or ethnic label for the local Jewish population.
It appears you are like a blind man at an orgy. Just feeling your way through this until you get it right.

st century CE (Mary & Jesus’ time): Nazareth was in the Roman province of Judea (specifically in Galilee). The broader region was sometimes called Palaestina by Greek writers, but the official Roman name was still Judea.

Again, this is absolutely pointless with you because you seem unable to differentiate between what is a geographical region and a religion. As I pointed out above, the earliest mentions of the region of Palestine describe Jews living there.
I'm not arguing against retardation anymore. Have a good day.

Mary did know because the angel Gabriel told her how in Luke 1:26-38, and she was good with it.

I’ve addressed this. Refer to the post I made and why I’m wrong.

She's one more radical left-wing nutjob whose classic dysfunction is evident by simply looking at her. Very odd-looking, and she almost has the female version of Marty Feldman's eyes.
To the people of NYC who voted for this insanity, you don't need to ever denigrate flyover country again. The "coastal elites" on both sides of the country have basically created the worst places to live in the entire country.

Well boy wonder the term “Jew” originated from Judea which predates Palestine. And if you actually knew the origins of the term “Palestine” you wouldn’t be making this idiotic argument but you are and the Muslim reference to Palestine is far different than the one you are attempting to make

I've already explained the origin of the term Palestine and why the word "Jew" doesn't factor into this. You frickin retards can't keep the religious aspect of this out of it because you're simple minded fools.
