Stalin and communism would have never been. Without American support, Britain would have either fallen or sued for peace. Thus allowing Germany to focus solely on the eastern front.

This means they wouldn’t have needed to smuggle Lenin to Russia. Without Lenin, there is no red v white. Without the reds v the whites there would be no stalin.

So like I said, neither the rise of nazism nor the rise of communism. The world, arguably, would be better off today.

Because I ain't gonna do it.

About 1,100 NATO mothers welcomed their soldier children home in a coffin from Afghanistan for supporting the US after 9-11 and in the long war.

You and President Bone Spur are both cowards and don't understand the value and need for NATO and a shield against the Russians who a committed mortal enemies of the US and the West. Putin has spent his entire life and career trying to out=flank us and f... us over. NATA is the more successful defense group in history, and yes I would go to any/all NATO countries and support Article 5.

They are not. Russia is a very dangerous rival who can't be trusted. But the Cold War-era drive to remake the world in the Soviet image is a thing of the past. Or are you another one of our infantile lefties who think Putin is a Communist?

Who would do that? Montenegro barely registers as a second world country much less a first world one. Nominal GDP is something 6-7K a year. It's beautiful there though.

I'm not hating on Montenego, I just don't think they bring anything all that good to NATO. There is only 650,000 people there, they don't border Russia . They only have about 2000 men in their army

So, theoretically, you'd be comfortable with massive numbers of Russian troops massed on the Mexican and Canadian borders. You would do nothing militarily to stop an enemy advance to that point.

Thank god that wasn't our attitude during the fist two world wars.
Shut up idiot, both times the USA was reluctant to fight and a whole lot of killing took place in both instances before the USA got involved. Don't act like we just got up and bailed out England or France.

Wrong- there have been several moments during the past eighteen years where Russia was highly supportive of the US and the fight against Islamic Terror. They provided aid to Afghanistan, they provide and allowed the transportation of supplies particularly fuel supplies across their borders to NATO forces in Afghanistan.

On which of our "flanks" are Russian forces. I would consider the Baltics, Caucasus, and Central Asia, Russian flanks. We have been outflanking him for 18 years.

The Treaty of Versailles directly led to Hitler's rise to power. The Entente powers of GB and France demanded very punitive penalties on Germany. Penalties which Wilson opposed.

If not for the need to get revenge on the Germans there would have not been the conditions which allowed Hitler to gain support. The limits on military is one thing but to give up most of the industrial complexes between Germany and France was too much to ask. Also the loss of other German speaking territories, 25,000 square miles and over 7 million German speaking people. Also transferred German colonies to mainly the French and British.

HOWEVER we may have been in the same situation today if not worse as it would have left a void which would have allowed Stalin and communism to be the aggressors instead of Hitler.

The world would be a much different place without Versailles.

As others said, odds are that Lenin isn't sent back to Russia to stir shite up. But even if he was and the USSR arose, WW2 would go far differently.

Russia would invade the Eastern European countries, and run into basically a NATO; a moderate and powerful Germany in Central Europe, with the support of both the French and British (defending Capitalism). German defense instead of invading everyone= the Russians get stonewalled, and eventually pushed back.

Let's not forget that Italy and Japan were both on the winning side of WW1 and the treaty screwed both of them over... so likely no Mussolini or Japanese imperialism either.

This would mean Europe fights the USSR before nukes get invented, and we'd pitch in for the final push. There would be no Hiroshima etc, no nukes employed in WW2. Likely no Communist China afterwards, so no Korea or Vietnam.

Of course, the other thing would be that the European powers would probably still be as strong or stronger than the US, and sooner or later we'd feel a bad trade war. And until nukes are developed and employed, war would be an option for all major countries, as it had been until that point. So who knows, maybe at some point we fight the Europeans, and it's us that gets nuked. Remember, the Germans were technologically more advanced in WW2, they had jets before it was over, they had long range rockets, and they had the scientific community developing atomic stuff.
So all things considered, it likely worked out the best for America.
