And you better have a plan to backfill those positions or construction will come to a standstill in this country

I do some home inspections as a side job. The absolute shite these illegals try to get away with is sad.

Plenty of hard working Americans would fill those jobs.

I was working on a new construction house helping a friend with a vinyl siding installation. There was one Guatemalan guy there and this dude started and finished an entire roof in less than a day. It was also July in Alabama. He stopped one time long enough to eat a raw cucumber while under a tree near the house. I don’t think he even took any water breaks. Nothing. We asked him if he ever had help and he said no. “That would cost me too much money” It was unbelievable.

Roofers don’t want to lose their labor. It’s all insurance fraud because they can make a killing paying illegals while charging a ton because insurance companies pay it.

Start w/ the ones getting government benefits. Dudes working hard on roofs and walls should be the last to go.

That’s just it though. They are still getting full gov benefits while working full time and getting tax free income.
That’s how they drive a brand new Silverado Z-71 and live in nice suburban neighborhoods.

No doubt, I have heard the stories from guys I know in that line of work.
I have also heard the SAME stories about shotty onstruction and code violations from 'American' workers. It's called being lazy, it does not discriminate.

I had new flooring put in my home 5 yrs ago. LVP was installed by a local company with an all-white crew that showed up late, left early, and took 5 days for demo & install. The next week we followed with new carpet in the bedrooms & family room. The all Hispanic crew showed up early, stayed late, and finished in one day. They did not leave until everything was moved back in place. You could not help but notice the HUGE difference in work ethic and give a 'sh!t. I gave the crew $100 afterwards to help pay for their dinner b/c they said they were heading to a fast food place.

I still believe a well-vetted work visa program is a win-win for American families.

I don't know if my painters, lawn guys, HVAC guy or roofers are illegal. But they did good work.

All came here to "visit the brother" And then filed for asylum and got a drivers license and Social Security number and now work in the brothers flooring business

I think we'd fix a big part of the problem by saying we have only Asylum designated countries that are actually in war or political prosecution. South Africa, Palestine, Ukraine, Yemen, and South Korea are really the only countries that have that going on in a recognized sense.

Why does my roof cost $18,000 if $5 illegals work it or $25 hour Americans work it? LOL
the material is expensive.

If that plan is hire American workers, good luck finding them and BPT pay them which means the increased cost of those services will be passed on to the consumer.

If construction companies are hiring illegals to save money and hiring Americans would force them to raise prices to "pass on the cost to consumers," then you are implying that housing prices were artificially low because the companies were using cheaper labor.

Of course, to believe that, you have to believe that companies are actually passing on the savings from keeping Americans unemployed to the consumer. This does not happen. The companies simply pocket the money while Americans citizens get screwed. So, no, they will not be forced to "pass on the cost" to consumers. They can simply choose to keep the price at what it was before they hired illegals. This idea that they have to pass on increased costs while pocketing all the increased savings is dumb.

If the illegals didn't save consumers money, then getting rid of them shouldn't increase the cost to consumers. If getting rid of them increases costs, then where the hell is all the savings us consumers should have had the past 4 years while we watched our country be destroyed? We had the biggest surge of illegal immigration in history under Biden, and yet, prices are higher than ever. Where are all these benefits all these third world illegals are supposed to bring us?

And even if it does raise prices, it doesn't offset the hundreds of billions illegals and their NGOs steal from us each year. It doesn't offset crime and unemployment for citizens. Thinking that our economy will fall apart without illegals is idiotic. It's an argument only made by people who never consider the costs of having illegals here.
