And this is agitprop. This is based on a memorandum that says the Georgians initiated hostilities by invading. What it doesn’t mention, because it was clear to everyone who was not a moron, was that the territory Georgia was “invading” was a Georgian Oblast.

Some powers don't want to see what used to be the two most caucasian countries on earth pulling in the same direction. It would be scary as shite for everybody else if Russia and the US were allied with each other.

Maybe in some places.
Most I know of are pretty downtrodden and destitute. Putin is an authoritarian KGB thug and he's literally built on spycraft and subterfuge. There's an epidemic of organized crime and most of them are tied in with the Russian government in some way. In a lot of ways they're exactly what the Left wants to be. As far as nationalism, they're more oriented to what the Right wants to be. I wouldn't want to live there. Aside from the blistering cold, it's just too damn corrupt. The City of Moscow and the Moskva River are certainly spectacular though.
I don't hate them. I don't love them. In general, the people are probably overall good people like most anywhere. Their government, like my own, I would NEVER trust. I know our history. It would be mutually beneficial to join forces with Russia to tackle globalism, but I fear that between our intelligence agencies and theirs, it would never be possible. A united Russia and USA would spell the end of most globalization efforts, and those in power who wish to achieve and stand to profit from Worldwide Etatist Kleptocracy, can never allow that to happen.
