GROK.
Typical Liberal taking things to the EXACT extreme. Sorry, I was 2% off - it's not 300%, it's 298% - My fricking Bad.
I bet if I said "I am so hungry I could eat a horse... you would believe me that I was actually going to go to a farm... shoot a horse... drag the hose to the cleaning station... skin the horse... chop up the horse... cook the horse meat and then chow down on an actual horse huh? Some of you people are fricking pathetic.
As of April 10, 2025, the highest tariff Canada charges the United States on an individual product category is 298% on butter. This figure comes from Canada’s tariff schedule under its supply management system, which imposes extremely high duties on certain agricultural goods—particularly dairy, poultry, and eggs—when imports exceed specific quotas. Butter stands out as the peak rate among these, with other notable examples including 270% on milk, 245% on cheese, and 238% on chicken, as reported consistently across trade data and posts on X reflecting current sentiment.
These tariffs are part of Canada’s long-standing policy to protect its domestic agricultural industries, especially dairy, and apply only above the tariff-rate quotas (TRQs) negotiated under agreements like the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

So...ZERO countries that charge a 300% tariff?
No, good point. That's awfully damn high. FWIW, I am happy with the Trump tariffs.
Cheers

It's also ok not to have an absolute opinion either way on every single act and aspect of the process. It's actually a smarter way to view the world around you, but I get that this place is all about engaging the minutiae and dying on molehills.

This is exactly what the "true conservatives" tell themselves while acting like the left.
It's OK to disagree with Trump. It's not OK to be a bleeding vagina and shite over every positive thing Trump does.
It's not OK to act stupid and pretend multiple things can't be true at once.
It's not OK to twist Trump's words in a lame gotcha when he has success. It's not OK to pretend his success is a failure.
It's not OK to demand Trump publicize his entire strategy in the middle of negotiations because you have no valid arguments remaining.
It's not OK to lie and use anonymous sources from the mainstream media to support your anti-Trump bias.
Most of the people who disagree don't just disagree. They act like leftists using bad logic and word games while their emotions overpower their brains. If you don't believe me, play a little game. Go to one of the whiny threads, have AI strip out the usernames, and, going by content alone, see if you can tell the difference between the known leftists and the "conservatives" who disagree with Trump.
Parts of MAGA disagree with Trump all the time. They just don't get the same flack because it doesn't come across as whiny and hysterical.
Disagree with Trump all you want. Just retain your dignity while doing so.

The new maga talking point is that we need to copy inferior economies. Brilliant.
Posted on 4/10/25 at 2:53 pm to Powerman
Or said a different way, the talking point is and has been that we need to stop artificially propping up inferior economies while we destroy our superior one.

What President signed off on this?

You said countries (plural) were charging 300%.
You showed one country that had an almost 300% tariff on certain items.
I'm not a Liberal. I just like dealing in reality. I haven't seen anyone dispute that other countries have outrageous tariffs against us.
Why not be accurate?
Again, it's the emotion of the Cultists. When Trump just makes up statistics, y'all deny that the statistics are false and attack anyone who points that out as being a Liberal.

"I voted for trump but he's hyperbolic and I take things he says literally so I have to build my PT persona around calling his other supporters cultists."
You're fooling everyone, baw. Keep up the great work.

"you are wrong because I think you are unable to disagree with Trump"
This is a very very very very weak argument. Either argue your position on tariffs or not.

Of course you don’t have to agree with everything anyone ever says or does. But when given a plausible explanation you might want to consider it’s possible and stop hyperventilating. Some people see. Some people see when shown. Some people never see even if shown.

You might be right on me using the "Cultist" label too quickly. Probably overreacting to falsely being labeled a liberal.

What I could have done is acted like a liberal - When called out about anything, they simply don't respond. At least I put some fricking effort into it.
So, back to the the actual question -
So, back to the the actual question -

Why are you for other countries charging up to 300% tariffs on the country you live in but not ok for America to charge the same amount back?
Can you please explain to me like I am a 5 year old on why you think it’s great for other countries to charge us but we aren’t allowed to charge them back?

What do you disagree with specifically & what would you do or have done different?
