SB116 and SB407 are the best options.
While I don't care for Union and Washington being in the same district, I like the BR Metro area being more consolidated like that (SB116).
I like the smaller footprint of District 5, but the carving between 1 & 2 at New Orleans looks a bit too janky to me.

if anything I would be surprised if there wasn't an internal debate about whether to go 6-0 or 5-1.
That's the gist of what Caroline said.
I don't know why Landry would favor the 5-1 option.
She could be bluffing to pressure on Landry to push the 6-0.

How is District 2 not drawn for race? If that is not gerrymandering, what is?

Is there no way to keep parts of the Florida parishes and NE La. from being in the same district?

These are the only two maps that make any sense whatsoever. frick the other jigsaw puzzle options.
Agree, but I think SB116 is the best

That's why SB 116 is my favorite of those five. It is far and aware the most sensical. Plus, and I guess I'm in the minority on this site, but i want more competitive districts; they lead to better candidates and not just pander bears.
shite, I agree with you.

She's an obvious dumbass. It was LANDRY who publicly stated he wanted a 2nd black district, but we all know it was to throw a bone to Cleo and get Graves out of office

At one time, maybe even today, 75% of Louisiana’s population lives/lived on or below I10. We also pay the majority of the states taxes by a large margin.
Just checked; E&W Carrol don’t have 20,000 residents combined, Morehouse has 23,000, Webster 35,800, Union 21,000, Lasalle 15,000, Tensas has less than 5,000. Calcasieu 208,000

You have a LOT of republicans who haven’t voted in decades or ever who will run to the polls to vote if they think there’s a chance to be represented by a republican.

SB117
Nope!! I don't want Cleo. I'm trying to get rid of Cleo. We have nothing in common

That's correct, LANDRY did this to intentionally sideline Graves politically.

If the SC just ruled that you can't racially gerrymander voting districts, why would you demand a black district be drawn? You're literally asking the legislature to do what the SC just said you can't do!
