I don't really give a shite. I'm never going to shoot up and OD.

Die in the street if you shoot up for all I care.

As long as my tax dollars don’t have to pay for someone’s bad decision I don’t care.

The war on drug is an absolute joke. The DEA only catches and confiscates 1.5% of drugs coming into America.

People who want to do drugs are going to do drugs. People who don't do drugs -
its not that they don't do drugs because they're illegal, they don't do them because they're unhealthy.

Making them illegal is the wrong deterrant. Legalize them, and develop more education in schools about them. Education of their harm is the most effective deterrent.

If they still choose to do them, well, that's their issue. Self responsibility.

Would I take a "deal" that gives me exactly what I want without compromise?

Yes please.

Dicks aren't going to suck themselves. Now we have to look at making prostitution legal.

Or, how about we just go with the clearly explained Constitutional rights shown in the 2nd and move on to actual problems?

No public money for rehab either

If I have to choose between rehab and incarceration I'd prefer rehab. Even if it has to be impatient rehab.

Can you tell me what drug that you typically shoot up is legal in California? I'm not aware of this development.

Doesn't have to be legal. Human nature will fill the void. Lax enforcement leads to that culture. Kinda like lax enforcement of immigration laws.

I agree. Most jurisdictions are at least attempting this route. Problem is, it's not all that successful.

Seems a bit overly simplistic and not completely thought out Re: "all drugs." In other words, it's all but a completely meaningless hypothetical/proposal.

A laundry list of every drug would make for a rather long posting

I'd imagine the overwhelming majority of drug use and abuse fits within a small handful of these drugs

Sure, if you want to shoot up meth, that’s your prerogative. Government shouldn’t waste billions on someone that willingly chooses to put deadly poison into their bodies.

That seems like a very narrow comprehension of reality and human nature.

Sure - the day you can pass a Constitutional amendment saying that the right of the people to get stoned shall not be infringed.

why is the 2A the only right that requires “a deal”? One does not bargain for rights.

For frick sake it's a GD hypothetical

How do you not understand this?

I don't know

Is it legal for people to have smack on them for personal use there?

You really think the gun control advocates would back off after that deal was made?

If so, then you probably would have believed this guy when he came out of a plane waiving a piece of paper...

I'm with you on that

But the war on drugs is an actual problem

Repeat the word hypothetical in your head about 5000 times until it sinks in

Obviously this deal would never be on the table. Everyone here knows that. It's a philosophical discussion.

Well, that's not even a deal to me. I'm already for that.

Alas, no one is gonna offer that so......
