Restaurants can kick fricking rocks with their $2.35 an hour bullshite and hope to god patrons decide to be nice enough to pay their employees.

Yet every time these tip earning employees making that wage are given a choice of not earning tips and instead being paid a non-tip earners minimum wage, they always choose to stay on the tip earning minimum wage....unless of course they work for some shite hole restaurant where they can't make much money in tips. That problem eventually works itself out when their employer goes out of business.

Yes prices will go up, but like I said in that earlier post, a Big Mac meal is $7 and minimum wage is $7.25. If minimum wage increases to $12 and Big Mac meals increase to $10, it will actually return things to a normal price point proportional to wages like the 70’s 80’s and 90’s.

Your analysis is flawed. You don’t see a rise in real wages/income disproportionate to inflation unless there are efficiency gains, and there are no efficiency gains from the government decreeing a minimum wage hike or paying workers to stay home.

Think of it this way - make a burger, build a car or manufacture a computer, then sell it. Every single penny the consumer spends on any of those things (or literally every product/service you can buy) goes to either wages or some other form of income. It’s not like the cow or tree are cut in in the deal, right?

So the only way you can in fact make a Big Mac meal cheaper for anybody in real terms is to squeeze labor out of its production (starting with the production of raw material thru to preparing/serving) - that’s an efficiency gain, or someone in the economic food chain for that product has to surrender some of its income. For the hourly wage guy that means the owner of the franchise or the owners of McD Corp will have to settle for less. Now tell me how likely it is that the owners are going to allow their share to be shrunk in order for the unskillled guy to make more in real terms. And don’t forget, it’s not franchise owners and shareholders streaming across the border - which is why illegal immigration is a big frick you to the American unskilled/working class.

Liberals are literally retarded.

Pay car washers more!
Auto car wash costs $5

Pay dish washers more!
Install dishwashers.

Pay waiters more!
Pickup counters.

Pay cashiers more!
Self checkout.

On our farm, in my lifetime, we went from 2-row equipment on cotton and peanuts to 8.
Square bales that were hand stacked to a machine that stacks them. Round baler that can hold 3 bales. Cotton wagons to modules to bales as you go.

We used to have as many as 6 guys working. My dad has had ONE guy working for him for 15 years ore more now.

Increase a cost, and people will find options. Robots become very reasonable when a moron that might just not show up costs $30k plus benefits.

That’s not how it works. Restaurants have to supplement the pay to reach min wage of tips do not equal up to it

Why is it every other part of the business can determine it costs more over time except labor? Cost of everything is going up folks. Food cost going up for example are the cost of doing business. At some point you can't find cheaper and you have to make a decision on value

Lanni owns the Thunderdome Restaurant Group which has 39 restaurants across the country

Thunderdome Restaurant Group received $8M in PPP loans which were likely forgiven.

John Lanni has a net worth of $11M.

He is crying about having to pay more than minimum wage in an industry where front of house staff costs less than $3/hr while taking $8M of tax payer money. Screw that guy.

Restaurant needs to raise prices.

Its that or go out of business. This is why prices are skyrocketing on everything. And Joe thinks that printing more money will quell inflation.

I shite you not.

You can’t sit here and think it’s perfectly okay that minimum wage hasn’t increased in 12 years but inflation grows the dollar 3% each year.

This isnt happening, though. Ive lived in 3 states over the last 8 years and had working age children the whole time. They have always made more than the national minimum wage.
