This upset me, but was more infuriating was Biden straight up saying he wants to ban handgun and rifles. He should be drug into the streets to answer to the mob for that comment alone.

I couldn’t agree more. I don’t like paying more, but I can afford it and at this point I’m willing to do it just to see certain people eat crow (at a higher price).

I thought surely the DQ in the middle of summer would be able to hire some high school or college kids.

Vacationed at the Outer Banks (Corova Beach) last week. Chatted-up a guy in town at a local coffee shop one morning. He said the college kids never arrived for the summer season. He's running his shop all by himself. Other shops (Ducks Donuts, etc.) had lines of 20-30 people waiting to place an order.

The economic disruption caused by this extended "stimulus" program cannot be overstated.

Nothing like a family of 4 in MA and CA getting 80-90k year while retirees pay for over 39 years and get $1,000-$2,800/month back in SS a few years before their life is supposed to end.

When did unemployment become ever lasting? The only times I ever used it in arkansas, years ago, was 16 weeks. You might get another 16 weeks, but never more than 32 weeks.
How long do unemployment benefits last these days?

If the government hadn't distorted the labor market so drastically, I would agree with Biden. But it did.

Okay but what if minimum wage was $35 a hour, what’s wrong with that? I mean currently minimum wage is $7.25, but a Big Mac meal is $7. So currently I need to work for 1 hour to buy a burger meal, but with the other scenario with less than 1 hour of work I can a burger meal. Restaurants can kick fricking rocks with their $2.35 an hour bullshite and hope to god patrons decide to be nice enough to pay their employees. I have zero pity for restaurant owners, this is all self inflicted on themselves.

There's nothing like the government taking your money, then using it to pay people not to work for you.

Minimum wage should be a million dollars per hour, that way everyone would be a millionaire and no one would be poor anymore. I'm not sure why all these highly paid government officials can't figure this out, it only took me a few seconds to think of.

Because the middle class won’t get a raise. Career employees will now be the poor. Raising the poor to above the middle class is the goal. Sad the only way they know it will work is give them even more free shite because they’ll never go out and earn it.

Okay so say minimum wage increases to realistically what the democrats want and what the republicans will settle of $12 an hour nation wide. Do you really think the people who are getting paid $12 right now won’t see an increase too $17.25? Every union will insure that happens and anyone with a brain will quit if it doesn’t happen. The middle class isn’t the middle anymore because of how low minimum wage is. It’s the lowest it’s ever been factoring in inflation since it’s inception. If minimum wage goes up, every wage goes up. Yes prices will go up, but like I said in that earlier post, a Big Mac meal is $7 and minimum wage is $7.25. If minimum wage increases to $12 and Big Mac meals increase to $10, it will actually return things to a normal price point proportional to wages like the 70’s 80’s and 90’s. You can’t sit here and think it’s perfectly okay that minimum wage hasn’t increased in 12 years but inflation grows the dollar 3% each year.

The people cooking your food don't make that.

They are already at your magical 12, sometimes higher.

Could be beneficial to health industry as well. More people cooking at home rather than going out due to higher prices. Could result in healthier United States. Drop in demand for restaurant food could lower prices of crops and meat from farmers too.

You’re right, even worse for the waiters/waitresses, they have to tip out what little they already make to the kitchen and bus boys.

The Chick-fil-A near me has a banner that they’re hiring. Starting wage is $17.40 an hour. I’m not sure if they’re offering a sign on bonus in addition to that.
