So, heterosexuality is a sin? As Zach said above - you appear to judge the sex act and not the desire. Is BEING a hetero sinful? Or, just the act of sex outside of marriage?

From the sermon on the mount, Jesus addresses adulterous thoughts and behavior,

Matthew 5: 28

"But I say to you everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart".

The battle against sin begins in the mind. This is why Jesus made it clear to his followers that your thoughts are what ultimately controls your actions so keep your mind on the things above. I readily admit that this society we currently operate in is very difficult to turnoff and it controls all of us to some extent and that's why we're seeing even the most devout Christian denominations fall to liberalism/progressivism.

Well I am a Classical Liberal so....
But really, I'm just pointing out the moral vanity involved in condemning homosexuality, or the sins of others in general. Kind of lazy and arrogant to point the finger at others, when we are all so flawed ourselves.

Explain a little more, please.

Makes sense. Most of my family is really religious but don’t really oppose gay marriage. I don’t really know many conservatives or Christians who actually do. It seems like a contrived boogey man

Sure they are. Most here are paying penance by not having sex after they get married.

Now THERE'S an underappreciated post.

Why do they have to fall?

Do you think Christians today think like Jesus intended? As in it has not progressed??

Where is it written that to sing Christian songs, the singer must be without sin, or must judge everyone else?

Some of y’all are insane.

You are wrong but you are too prideful to see it or believe that you could be wrong.

So just to be clear - all the taboos listed in the Old Testament were declared sins by Christ?

Confirmation of.

Second, the Bible is not just the 4 Gospels.

Many scriptures in the NT.

The biggest issue in the world we live in is that nothing is sin and all is acceptable. Some sins have some earthly consequences.

Example, cheat on your wife.... lose everything and live poor to pay support and alimony. Nobody considers the spiritual hit.

There are many things that we have changed and paid the price for and changed to only pay a higher price.

- Free love... sex before marriage.. just love love love baby.

- oops... Women now getting prego...

- We can fix that.. Take this pill.

- oops.. complications from the pill...

- make a better pill... Still not 100%

- Well.. let's just get rid of the baby. (murder)

- well.. we rationalize it and fix the murder issue...

- Baby is not a baby.. It's not alive.. Murder problem solved... EXCEPT the women who go into depression from it...

- Oh... just take this pill. It fixes depression... except for those it pushes over the edge.. but for some.

- But wait.. what about all of those STDS... Well damn. We gotta fix that too.

AND ETC ETC ETC ETC.

That results in a lot of hits to the human spirit. More and more, evil things become acceptable with each hit.

NIV or KJB?

Nothing is clear in books that were written thousands of years ago, over the course of many hundreds of years, in dead languages and differing scripts.

God may have provided the inspiration, but he didn't pen the manuscripts.

But that's what she is inferring. That she cant tell them its a sin.

Just like I couldn't tell my alcoholic/addicted friends that they are damaging their "temple" that God clearly said he created for them, to take care of

Religion in general is pretty jacked up when it comes to sex.

And I say that as a religious person.
