The administration is officially shutting down the endless degree-looping game. For years, people who missed out on the H-1B lottery or lost their jobs just rolled back into a cheap master's program to stay in the country legally and keep working. Not anymore.
The new rules explicitly block F-1 students from simply enrolling in another degree at the same or a lower level. No more hiding out on student visas to prolong a stay when the job market doesn't work out.
DHS is systematically locking down the system to ensure American graduates come first. Is this the final nail in the coffin for immigration body shops? Drop your thoughts below.

Even before my post, it’s been the topic at almost every dinner or party. If you’re from here and anything less than the upper class, you have a deep resentment for the companies and politicians ushering in foreigners at the expense of your home. We’ve watched some of the most liberal progressive people we know pull their kids out of public schools because they’re the only Americans left in their class. I don’t know how these people will vote, but they are facing the reality of their progressivism.
A lot of these people are uncomfortable having the discussion in public given it touches a raw part regarding race. I get the sensitivity and there is a sense in which that’s right. But if our politicians want the support of the people of Texas, they’re going to have to recognize that however silent, there is a significant majority that feel disenfranchise, betrayed and a level of despair watching their home be transferred to newcomers.
These are not hateful, mean or racist people. They simply want to give their kids an upbringing that resembles the one they had. They want their kids to go to schools with other English speaking Americans, meet kids at the park they can be friends with and they don’t want their kids to be minorities. This is normal and good.
If Bo’s post was over the line for you then you’ve lost touch with every voter and are in for a rude awakening.
