Pfizer was also given out heavier to the elderly(sicker) and healthcare workers(more exposure)as it came to market first and those places locked down the first shipments

That should be taken into account in this studies. Regardless, they both are doing a great job at preventing severe infection but yes boosters will be needed for those with weaker immune responses

When you have almost everyone vaccinated, your hospitalizations have to be mainly vaccinated by math.

right, so it makes sense to reasonably suggest we should have vaccinated the vulnerable populations and allowed natural immunity for the healthy

natural immunity is being shamed

Case counts are 1/2 those of the January peak. ICU admissions are 1/20th what they were.

Natural immunity is so variable though

Somone with a case that made them sick to where they felt like shite for a week or worse? Yeh, they are going to have great immunity

Someone who barely had the sniffles or anything at all but a stupid test says they have covid? That immunity could be minimal

Thats why its hard as shite to judge natural immunity because "cases" are shite

you cant even get to herd immunity with just vaccines. You have 15% or the population that isnt qualified for the vaccine and a vaccine thats not 100% for those that are qualified.

Low risk people MUST get this virus. We have to be honest about natural immunity and stop trying to redefine science to fit political narratives.

This is insane. Dems are seriously discussing papers and fricking camps!

Yes, the efficacy has decreased with Delta, but the beauty of mRNA is they can quickly tweak it for new variants (in like days). They don't have to grow or culture the virus to do this.

Awesome. Your vaccine passport will need to be a sheet of legal paper by the time the fearmongering is complete.

You understand that as vaccinated population percentages go up, the opporuntity for vaccinated people that have break through infections go up....right?

I understand that, however, if the vaccine worked at all, you wouldn't see a corresponding spike in cases.

I love this argument.

We are on variant 9 since January. Libs think they are going to revaxx 330MM people every few weeks?

Or, we can leave it the frick alone, take care of the vulnerable, and let mother nature fix this shite in under a year.

No doubt the biggest mistake was shutting down kids and schools in the beginning when the original Covid was such a wimpy infection for them. Could have had a lot of immunity there

Throw in like reason number 20 why I won't get the vaccine.

Yet I'm considered stupid and selfish.

You absolutely can't get to herd immunity with RNA viruses with animal reservoirs through natural distribution. Humanity has never, to my knowledge, reached herd immunity through natural infections alone. Vaccines with widespread distribution have helped us with that.

I was exposed to several people who are really sick with Delta. I never got sick. I was face to face in a meeting in a cold board room for one hour.

The difference, myself and one other coworker have Pfizer from April and neither of us got sick or had a single symptom.

The others at the office aren’t vaccinated and now our company’s future is at risk along with their own health.

This is a tad presumptuous, dont you think?

Is it your belief that in 10,000 years of "pre-vaccine" human existence, we have never survived animal borne viral pandemics through natural immunity?

How do they compare to natural immunity?

You mean the natural immunity that has the hospitals full of a majority non vaccinated? So that natural immunity?
