One could argue NATO and the EU are not really in a peacetime setting. They’ve obviously colluded with Ukraine, as have we, despite no formal “article V” declaration. These are not the actions of a regional entity encouraging or exhibiting peacetime behavior.
There’s also the whole “Putin will next invade the Baltics, then the Nordic region, before you know it, Paris”. While most objective analysis says otherwise, it’s again, not behavior you typically see in a true peacetime setting.

Small minds, Stout.
It’s amazing that people put their insecurities, immaturity and low IQ on display for the whole world to see like that.
But then again, I guess it makes total sense.

Mickey,
The negotiations are still ongoing but the most important part of the deal so far is that we have gained permanent leverage over Greenland’s future, including keeping China and Russia out. China was trying to build an airport there previously.
We gained more access, including a path to US military expansion in Greenland without spending a dime. Trump wanted it for the Golden Dome and that happened.
Sorry that it bothers you

That sounds like an incredible deal for the US and a terrible deal for Denmark/EU.
Denmark/EU get our continued support in NATO.
That’s a big win/win.
No losers here.

Is the deal Trump is negotiating going to benefit America?
You know the answer is yes. And what i find absolutely hilarious, is you lefties are now bitching because Trump didn't invade and take Greenland because "but he said he was going to do it". Would you prefer a military takeover of Greenland? So, kindly, shut the frick up. You are doing nothing but bitching because you got outplayed, AGAIN, by Trump.

*IF* that’s the deal I don’t see how the US and more specifically Trump didn’t get more than what he set out to achieve while paying far less and with zero political negatives?
Military/missile defense? Check
Mineral rights? Check
Keep China & Russia out? Check
No payments? Check
No need to maintain protectorate? Check
In what world is that not a stunning achievement?

People who only understand taking it in the rear think this is a failure. The lead from behind crew.

It's only been 10 years and they refuse to look at the results only the words.
So the US has free use of Greenland and its minerals and it is somehow a failure. Wow he gave up some tariffs that the left hated to begin with.
Trump could literally cure cancer and the left would say it will lead to over population .
Trump should support abortion and trannys just to make the left hate it.

I mean... Who cares if Greenland is considered US territory or not when we have access to everything we wanted out of it. Is that not all that matters? Anyone claiming "failure" doesn't simply fail to understand Trump's strategy, but also fails to comprehend what Trump was even after Greenland for.

Hey bud, take a breath and relax. Not bitching whatsoever. Simply saying this “deal” is basically what was already possible if Trump simply approached them in a sane manner from the get go. They were never going to tell us we couldn’t have more bases there. We already have one and used to have many. We chose to leave the others abandoned.
He didn’t have to puff up his chest and go on for years about acquiring Greenland with full title and control to simply reach an agreement for more bases. That was always available if he had simply asked.

1) Denmark must continue paying the Greenland population 600 million dollars per year.
2) The US gains sovereignty over any parts it wants for American military bases.
3) The US will have access to the entire Arctic Circle.
4) The US obtains the mineral exploration rights.
5) China and Russia are not permitted to enter Greenland.
6) The US will continue to be part of NATO in exchange for all of this
Not sure how any of this is different from the old deal....

Not a failure. Glad he abandoned this ridiculous play. It was stupid and shows it is time for Republicans to maybe help him step down and transfer power to JDV. It would be the smart thing to do.
It does show Trump ultimately as a huckster though. Either that or just a "ok grandpa, it's time for your nap ...".
Obviously, Greenland, Denmark and the UK are not going to actively ignore POTUS. It would be stupid to do that but they did contain him very effectively and probably showed a nice blueprint for the rest of Europe to use when dealing with him instead of hand-wringing.

People who don't understand how Trump negotiates calling Greenland deal a failure
If they'd bother reading "The Art of the Deal", they'd discover that Trump (in negotiations) is actually very predictable. We all had fun trolling with the whole "A dozen Texas baws could take Greenland" talk, but we all know that Trump was going over-the-top as usual, to end up in the middle which is exactly where he intended to be.
I'm sure he's plenty pissed about Ukraine dragging on for so long, but it's Congress that keeps sending Zelenskyy money and 95% of the GOPe Congress are controlled opposition RINO war pigs.
