Name another fabric of society in which the consumer (the patient) isn’t directly paying for a service and the provider (the doctor) isn’t affected by the price of their product and the end result of this transaction was positive
Hi patient, the price of the procedure is $19,473. I don’t care what the price is because I’m not setting the price or affected by competitors offering it substantially lower. Okay great I don’t care either because I’m not paying. Start the anesthesia
You could also google third party payer affect or socialism in general but seeing as you started this thread I doubt you will

More than one reason.
If I’m made responsible for paying for part of everybody else’s care, my costs will be higher and there’s no way around that. I’ll be paying for people with rare diseases, people who have bad chronic habits and chronic diseases, hypochondriacs who are constantly seeking medical help, etc, etc, etc
When government gets involved in health care, quality of care and efficiency of the system suffer, every time. Every.time.
I don’t want crappy, slow, expensive health care, any more than it’s already been made so.
The Constitution doesn’t provide authority to the federal government to supply health care plans, or retirement plans, or affordable mortgages, or bailouts for businesses. There are specific responsibilities assigned to the federal government, with anything outside of those left to the states.

Socialism may work but I doubt it because some are always more equal than others.

I don’t need the doctor and my family is healthy so it’s a bad deal for us

universal? you mean in the whole world?
because why would we stop at our borders?
because why would we stop at our borders?

My main issue with it is that it rewards the current American culture of shite health. Much of the American health expenses are self-inflicted by shitty life decisions.
I want to help sick people that have legitimately been struck with an awful illness out of their control. I do not want to help the lazy fat asses that have never seen the inside of a gym and go to Wendy’s four times a week.

By placing the burden of persuasion on people who think that government is horrible at such things, especially in a large heterogeneous nation, you are indeed taking a side.

Services are always rationed.
UHC = waiting lists and stifling innovation and worse service. And probably much more expensive.
So what's not to love!!!

because nothing in life is fricking free. Nothing.

Because there is no such thing as all are created equal when it comes to health - pre-existing, habits, financial, prevention, one standard of care, etc

Because money does not grow on trees.

Do we want to fundamentally transform this nation-state, the USA, into something other than which it was founded? Without even voting on any Constitutional Amendment that would work as the lawful engine of that transformation?
If so, then, Universal Healthcare For All paid for by the US Federal Government is the fastest way to make this happen.
THAT is why the movement towards this is so very strong.
AND
will eventually succeed.

-the government is a large highly bureaucratic and inefficient system, to think they will take trillions of dollars in money and create a good system of healthcare, that our livelihoods depend on, without being inefficient and wasteful like it already seems to be, is the highest form of idiocy.
Also, it's just another method of giving the government more power of your life as they will begin legislating more with respect to every day health issues such as taxing sodas, taxing sugars, taxing anything they deem "unhealthy ".
In the UK they actually have laws that restrict how much pizza people can order...insane and stupid, or what? They actually take millions of taxpayer dollars, sit around, and come up with stupid laws about how much pizza people eat.
And lastly, which is by far the most important thing about universal healthcare....WE CANT AFFORD IT.
Its wealth redistribution at its finest. The poor are typically the most unhealthy...why? They smoke the most, they eat the worst, they have the worst health habits of any demographic. They arent always born unhealthy, they mostly just behave unhealthy.

I don’t want to die while waiting to see a doctor.
And I DONT WANT TO PAY HIGHER TAXES!!!

Can't afford it. I already get nauseated writing checks for my quarterly taxes. I sure as shite don't want to pay medical bills for some fat a-hole that smokes 2 packs a day and gorges himself with mcdonald's at every opportunity. Most of Americans' health problems can be attributed to modifiable risk factors that people refuse to modify.

Very simple. The government sees things differently. For example, when the Affordable Care Act was passed , it provided "Affordable" healthcare for the masses, allowing more people access to doctors and other healthcare providers. Not one cent of funding was provided for more doctors, but funding was provided for the addition of thousands of IRS agents.
