Evidently the people currently running the DoD aren’t qualified either but I bet you didn’t question them.

I totally agree the failed audits are crazy. I said as much in the first post.

Hegseth isnt qualified? REALLY????
Lets consider the accomplishments of the current loser sitting his fat arse in the Secratary of Defense seat:
1. Disappeared without notification to ANYONE for over a week while serving as Sec of Defense.
2. Allowed a Chinese spy balloon to fly over strategic military bases in our country.
3. Oversaw the embarrassingly pathetic Afghanistan withdrawal that cost us 13 servicemen.
4. Didn't stand up for our servicemen in defending them against mandatory COVID vaccinations.
5. Oversaw and helped to perpetuate the proliferation of the woke culture in our military.
6. Has left us woefully unprepared to defend our country by depleting our military stockpiles.
The bar is so ridiculously low for improvement, his successor can't do anything but succeed. Thank god we have Lloyd Austin and all his "experience" and "qualifications". It seems to have served us so well......

Look where the “Qualified” people have gotten us.
Time for something different, losers.

No problem with this take at all.

The title is a bit misleading. The audit didn't say $824b is missing. It says they have a budget of $824b and can't account for each individual dollar of it.
Big difference.
But yes, the government is incredibly wasteful, inefficient, and needs a haircut. Those MFers need an arse kicking too.

Even if an audit can account for where the money went is that okay?
The procurement cost of the f35 was 422 billion, the cost over the life is now projected at 2 TRILLION. So thats okay? Maybe someone might want to pull the plug now and just piss away 422 versus 2 TRILLION. The program is woefully behind schedule and flawed beyond any sense of reason.
And this is one program, one program, for a platform that is about as useful as a nine pounder cannon.

Audit processes should be clear in result
Meets expectation........promotoable out come
needs improvement........list of defined deficiency, require action plan and progress reporting
fails........need lists of defined deficiency, requires action plan and progress reporting. Also responsible mgmt. to be reviewed for demotion

He's not defending the budget or the expenses associated with it. Instead he's pointing out that the OP's title is extremely misleading:
quote:
Pentagon flunks seventh audit failing to explain to Americans where $824 billion went
He was pointing out that OP's title has a completely different meaning than what the article stated.

No it's not. The title didn't say it was missing. That's your interpretation of the title.

So the first question in my mind then is where did it go? We all know it's not missing.

Lets just tell it like it is.Ukraine is a war that theyre using to launder money. They impeached Trump to protect it. The party is over.

s unable to fully account for its massive $824 billion budget,
Why don’t they just say “were unwilling to tell us where the $824B went”. There’s no way there isn’t a record of where the money was spent or transferred to.

Better yet why not tell us how much is unaccounted for? Is it $10, $10MM or $100B? Then we can determine how angry the taxpayers should be!

was Pete Hegseth’s highest military rank? Find me the last head of DoD with a similar resume.
So we should keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

Nearly 3 in 10 of all Secretaries of Defense never served in the Armed Forces.
Eisenhower, General of the Army during WW2, obviously thought it was important for the SoD to have high ranking military experience because he would never appoint someone with out...oh wait.
