Anyone severely emotionally impacted by something done to other people over a century ago have issues other than slavery and "reparations" are just an excuse to get free money. Any reparations paid will eventually be considered "not enough" and the demand will come up again.
If someone wants to get snarky about it they can always point to Section 8, WIC, etc as unending reparations.

Think of it this way.
Wal-Mart accuses you of shoplifting (with no evidence) and bans you from the store.

This has been done several times.
But if another apology is needed I'm all for it - every living person who owned a slave in the US should apologize personally to every living person who was a slave in the US. And they should pay each living person who was a slave $1 trillion.

This is a perfect example of why I'm baffled that anyone supports Democrats in general.
How does anyone who considers themselves a Liberal not realize this obvious PANDERING for votes is the definition of racism and that these Dem politicians are pieces of shite who care about nothing but being in political power?
Reparations?
This isn't a solution for anything. This is 100% an attempt to bribe a race of people for their votes, period.
I get that the Lefty bleeding-hearts drowning in guilt and empathy will FEEL GOOD after something like this were done, but what about all the actual Classic Liberals who are not afflicted with excessive emotional disorders like this?
Is redistribution of wealth in this manner really a Liberal concept? Do you real Liberals really consider this a solution to a problem?
And if you are a Classic Liberal, and you realize this is disgusting racism at it's most pinnacle core, how do you continue to vote for these Democrats who crow this as one of their fundamental policies?
How do you not see that this is virtually all the Left is about anymore? Pandering for votes and no real solutions to anything.

Over 600k Americans died in a bloody war to free the slaves.
That debt was paid with the blood of those that were actually part of that era.
Why the frick should we continue to apologize over 100 years later? Especially when we all know that any kind of national apology would consist of blaming all modern white people.

It really makes you wonder what percentage of today's society has ancestors that actually owned a slave, or were a slave. I'd imagine it won't be as large of a number as many were thinking/hoping.
