Trump has F/U money for a reason.
He can't be bulldozed into something he doesn't want.

If Trump publicity states he will keep the government shut down for months or years, Senate Republicans will flip on him.

I don't know how long he can hold up, but I will grin from ear-to-ear if he remains stubborn and keeps the government shutdown indefinitely until they cave.
All of these emotional attacks from the media about some guy who couldn't get his insulin or trash that wasn't getting picked up are sad and pathetic.

Trump should reply that the money requested is a tiny portion (<1% of the budget) of what is needed for the wall. If P & S arent willing to do at least that then they are not really sincere in there approach towards border security...
I hope Trump holds firm. He should tell them if no deal is reached by Jan 10th he will want 1 billion more for each day the shutdown goes.

I don't like the approach of saying "it's such a small amount."
Either it's a worthwhile endeavor or it isn't - the amount of money needed is largely irrelevant.
Saying something only cost .5% of the budget is how you get 20% of the budget spent on 40 terrible programs.
