This teacher is an idiot, that is no doubt, but the no phones in class thing has nothing to do with this. As others have said, it is significant distraction for most kids, and teachers already have a hard enough time getting them to focus.
Sadly, you are no better than the ones you criticize because you decide to take it somewhere to try and win political points by simply being a moron driven by your agenda.
Not all teachers and schools are bad, but of course, it is a huge conspiracy to you that the entire education system is some indoctrination center for the left.

I'm completely unwilling to listen to this perspective on this issue. I trust my children far more than I trust the overwhelming majority of teachers, who operate with virtually no oversight and are able to both vote against and unionize against their employer (me).
