Should only admit those under 60, and save the most likely to survive.

People in their 20s-40s shouldn't be admitted they should be sent home. Also I'm calling bs on the hospital shortage.

Just tell them they have to pause all elective procedures. They’ll figure it out.

Same here in Bossier. Our hospitals are empty. But the newspaper isn't covering it. I wonder why.

My wife works A hospital and she, like many of her co-workers were "encouraged" to take their vacation time. She had 3 weeks. She took 1 week off at a time, like the rest of the staff. Now, why would they have done that?

JBE threatening to go back to phase one. He’s urging the stop of misinformation. Stop going to the store too much. Listen to him or else!

So the Lake is at capacity due to staffing shortages? So if it had more nurses on staff more beds would be available? Sounds like they need to hire more staff.

They're making money hand over fist by quarantining patients in the hospital. I'll bet that if most of those people didn't have insurance or Uncle Sugar wasn't picking up the tab, they'd be shown the door.

I'll believe it when someone who works there that I know tells me what is going on. She is a fraud and so are all the political leaders. We are they only one's suffering. Tell, me when the last politician had COVID outside of a sniffle early on? frauds, all of them.

Did they cut off elective procedures at any time? If so it would’ve been because of the loss of revenue from those most likely.

It's been the go to rallying cry and it always ends up being false.

So what would have to happen for you to believe OLOL ICU was at capacity and facing staffing shortages?

Random person on message board here, but I know for a fact the census is higher now than it has been, but her description of it being at capacity is simply not true.
And the "staffing shortages" is how many hospitals run and not as much to do with the Covid situation as the article implies.

If they're still full and short staffed, what the hell have they been doing the past 2 weeks?

Wife (no pics) is ER nurse, and they’ve been on full diversion for ER and ICU for a few days now.

The problem is that primary care physicians, COVID hotlines, and apps are telling people to go to ER as soon as they answer “yes” to whether or not they’ve been exposed to a person who has tested positive.

They’re creating their own shortage because the ER can’t triage an otherwise healthy person to a clinic. It’s a systemic problem.

Just like the Feds stepped up and allowed nurses to practice across state lines, they need to step in and figure out a way to keep hospitals from being scared to turn healthy Covid patients away at triage if all they need is testing. They could send them to a clinic or testing site.

The OLOL official just said they have had a problem with nurses getting covid and being out from that.
