Ottawa quietly restarted defense talks with the PLA. Beijing announced it. Canada didn’t.

You cannot declare the US security partnership finished, reopen a military channel with China, and expect NORAD, NORAD modernization, and USMCA to sit untouched. Those are the two pillars that actually protect Canadian airspace and Canadian market access. Put them on the chopping block and you don’t get “strategic autonomy.” You get a smaller, poorer, less defended country that just taught Washington it can’t be trusted with the keys

Canada is in big trouble in more ways than one...

Here are the actual numbers.
Canada exports to the US: 75.9% of everything Canada sells to the world.
Canada exports to China: 3.8% of total exports. $29.9B in 2024.
Canada-China total trade 2025: $124B
Canada IMPORTS $90.6B from China. Exports only $34.1B. Trade DEFICIT: $56.5B
Canada-US total trade: $1 TRILLION+. Every single year.
Canada’s trade deficit with China has grown from $22B in 2005 to $57B in 2024.
The US buys 76 cents of every dollar Canada earns abroad.
China buys 4 cents.
And we owe China $57B more than they owe us.
This is not a trading partner. This is a supplier we run a deficit with.
What China buys from Canada: raw logs, canola, minerals, oil.
Commodities.
What China sells to Canada: electronics, machinery, vehicles, everything manufactured.
We send them dirt.
They send us finished products. And Carney wants to use THAT as leverage against Trump.
You cannot replace your lungs with a straw. You cannot replace $1 trillion in integrated US trade with a $34B export relationship where you’re already losing $57B annually.
This isn’t trade diversification.

Canada will not be allowed to enter a strategic defense agreement with China.
If they attempt to allow Chinese troops on their soil I favor regime change.
We cannot allow the Chinese to be active on our borders period or the entire hemispheric defense approach is impossible.

WTF are you talking about. The only PLA personnel in Canada are at embassies, standard of any country with normal diplomatic relations. This is insane conspiracy fodder.

Outside of limited embassies I don’t believe that’s currently the case.
There were military training events at one point but I don’t believe it’s ongoing.

Close the border 100% for all traffic people and imports/exports, and Canada will crash.....

Kameltoe, Biden and Obama would have pardoned her.

the old relationship with the United States is over: the integration, the trade system, and the tight military cooperation.
Pretty sure Trump already made that statement months ago.

Canada ratified an agreement with China back in 2018 that allowed full Chinese activity w/in Canada without alerting locals. Videos of uniformed soldiers started appearing in 2020 along the border near Vancouver. You can find plenty of links from Canadian media about it.
