Social media has created millions of dullards who believe their opinion should matter to everyone. The company is correct, your opinions do not matter.

I work for a company that devotes some time and money respecting the current boo hooing. But I promise you if I spent any noticeable time on that stuff when I should be doing productive work, I’d be streeted within a couple months. And that’s as it should be.

They don’t need to replace 3,000 workers.

Just 20.

That's what allows them this flexibility

Hope it works out in their favor

Sounds like the company got rid of a lot of dead weight and should be able to bring in people who want to work to fill the empty slots.

That and they got rid of a bunch of HR nightmares.

A tech company that isn't pandering to its woke employees?

That won't last long.

nothing wrong with telling them to do their job and get back to work. After all, that's what they're getting paid for.

Just proof that liberals are lazy and just want to play at work.

STFU and do your job, nobody cares about your nutty politics

Its hilarious. From the Twitter mob’s faux outrage, you’ d think hundreds or thousands had quit.

The owners also gave anyone that wanted to quit a six month severance.

The company has been one of the most prestigious places to work in tech. They’ll no problem hiring non-woke focused employees. Seems like a win to me.

They’ll be far better off in six months because of this.

/\ THIS /\

Social media has been the equivalent of a microphone attached to a squeaky bedspring that connects to every speaker in the modern world. You get to impose your every squeak whether it be adjusting your pillow or plowing your bedmate to the entire world without their permission.

Most of what we hear is incoherent mindfarts with not an ounce of reflection or analysis behind them.

They might lose far less in productivity in the short term than they lost in a percentage of their workforce.

The buyout backs that up. Paying people to leave isn’t a good sign they were highly productive.

Yep,

This is why any resume or cover letter that has 'preferred pronouns' included needs to go straight to the shredder.

If you have a problem with that philosophy, then you probably ought to own your own business and you run your own company into the ground with your social justice bullshite.

Imagine thinking your software company is paying you for your political opinion.

I always thought the "programmer nerd" stereotypes were overblown and they were really just normal people, but sometimes I feel like we've empowered people with serious blindspots about life in general.

I'd like to work somewhere that gave me a 6-month severance. Mine wouldn't even pay for the time I was forced off waiting for my covid test after a flight.
