anything that has 'studies' attached to its description is not worthy of any kind of scholarship. period = and certainly no loans.

They are eliminating the BA version, which is a far less rigorous and arguably useless compared to a BSc.
That is not addressed in the OP. If correct, then the presentation should be on the elimination of duplicate majors with some context, and not simply characterizing math and science degrees as "worthless degrees."
The OP correctly assumes that most people know the difference between a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science.

Good idea in theory, a little wonky in execution.

I’m not sure we need to be cutting hard sciences like chemistry and math.

They are Bachelor of Arts degrees rather than Bachelor of Science degrees

A Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Physics offers a flexible, interdisciplinary approach to studying the physical universe, combining foundational physics with liberal arts education.

I've tried to explain that in some colleges 'liberal arts' is actually a double major. At Centenary every single student had a liberal arts degree. You had to double it with another major. IE, 'Biology' was pre-med + liberal arts. 100% of our biology graduates were accepted to medical school. So, it meant along with subjects related to biology you had take subjects like ancient civilizations, history of religion, creative writing, etc. It created a well rounded graduate and it was more interesting than taking all of your subjects in your career-focused field.

Why not just have a BS in Physics with Minors in whatever?

I can't imagine why anybody thinks eliminating degrees in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and geology is something to cheer about.

Again, this asinine nonsense stems directly from constantly fricking around in a populist fantasyland thinking that the way to solve this problem is to punish or control the universities instead of just stopping all government guarantees of student loans.

That's all that needs to be done to solve the problem.

But because populists live in a world of Us vs Them and trying to use the government to punish enemies, they can't see that solution. It doesn't "own" anybody that they don't like. It doesn't tacitly identify someone as a victim.

So it's invisible to the populist.

Populists love Big Government. As long as they are using it to "own" somebody.

There are still schools where you can study them and I think some are still still important, but if there’s no demand at a school for the degree you can’t keep paying professors and entire departments for three students. Somebody has to pay.

That's right, but that's a decision for the university to make, not for the government to make.

Good thing we are eliminating all study of chemistry, classics, French language, horticulture, math, physics, aviation, geology, and life sciences.

Feeling threatened?

Go to lineman school and make more than most "scientists". Oh, and HVAC guys and electricians do well too, with a fraction of the education costs.

This is not always true. BAs v BSs are often just historical convention at universities. Everyone graduating with a degree in chemistry, physics, biology, etc at my alma mater have BAs.

There may be a difference at Kent State, but not at alot of universities (particularly the elite ones).

Exactly.

A Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) offers a broader education with focus on humanities, social sciences, and critical thinking, while a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) provides in-depth technical knowledge, focusing on STEM, research, and data. B.A. programs offer more flexibility for electives, whereas B.S. programs often require more specialized, laboratory-based coursework.

Social bullshite vs actual application.
