Culling themselves. Glorious to see.

If I had to spit out a guess of the top of my head, I'd probably feel safe saying that 40% of federal workers are simply a drain of tax dollars.
Cut that 40% and delegate their tasks among the remaining 60% along with a 20% raise, and you're saving money while boosting efficiency and productivity. It's a win-win.

Over 100,000 federal employees are expected to resign
this would literally be a major step in undoing all the frickery that has been in place for at least the last 25 years. This would be a yuge win for the commonfolk. It would fix a portion of the parasitic drain on the economy

100,000 federal civilian employees represents 4.3% of the civilian workforce of 2.3M employees. Don’t think losing these heroes will have much effect. Now as a previous poster said try laying off about 40% or say an even 1,000,000 folks and pay the remaining 60% more money I bet we wild get better results for a lot less money.

From the Guardian link in the tweet:

quote:
“Federal workers stay for the mission. When that mission is taken away, when they’re scapegoated, when their job security is uncertain, and when their tiny semblance of work-life balance is stripped away, they leave,” a longtime employee at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) told the Guardian. “That’s why I left.”

When Trump offered the voluntary buyout to federal workers in February approximately 7% of federal workers signed up to leave. They were to be paid through Sept 30 which is now upon us. This is not news.

One eager 20 something year old could probably replace 5 of these do littles anyway.

This is very old news and the the tweet is either clickbait or from a moron. The resignations were agreed to in January. These employees haven’t been working all year but have been getting paid. It’s not like they are all deciding on their own to quit. Many to who took the buyout, were set to retire soon anyway.

They can just learn to code…

I'm interested to see how many actually pull the trigger and quit. President Trump is promising to fire 100K or more if government shuts down. I'm guessing that many may lose benefits if fired? Maybe if it's a RIF they'd keep benefits, I don't know.
OTOH, 100K is a small number of federal government, and it'll probably be contracted employees that actually do the work.
