I can't see the USA leveling Tehran and most of the cities in Iran. Maybe, I'm wrong. Or is the use of a dirty bomb open the door for "no such thing as proportional response in nuclear weapon use"?
US response might be to break out some neutron bombs?

Take out their power plants AND the South Pars natural gas facilities that power those plants and Iran will be in the dark for years. That is exactly Israel's plan and I hope they carry it out even if we don't. The tens of billions Iran spends to rebuild this damage will be money they can't spend on nukes and missiles.

Apparently we’re determined to look foolish. None of this whole charade has made any sense since we quit bombing them.

You’re assuming the commanders in charge of these operations are not well informed on what’s going on inside the IRGC and what the next move is. And you also must think they need to be total transparent on strategic planning.
We can play devils advocate’s. If you was in charge of the IRGC military that would make you pretty much the man in charge. You have all the weapons and power to take out anyone that opposes you for power and control.
What would you do now that your military has all but been destroyed to wage war. What’s left to give yourself any leverage to stay in control over the Iranian people that you’ve murdered and executed without mercy for almost 50yrs? When the end is near what would you do knowing your a dead man either making a deal or fighting to the end?
Lay waste to every thing and leave nothing intact. Cause as much damage to recovery as humanly possible and burn it all down without any remorse what so ever. That’s what radicals do. That what Saddam did when his army was wipe off the face of the earth
Maybe that’s what’s going on right now and maybe we’re stalling also to give the citizens a chance to get organized, maybe covertly arming them as much as possible to have a fighting chance and instill some courage in them with clandestine units that’s been in place helping organize it.
Things are being done on a surgical level it seems. And that requires patience sometimes instead of brut force. I’m not saying that’s what’s happening but there’s also more going on than we know.

Trump keeps saying how he'll wipe Iran off the face of the Earth and use weapons they can't even imagine etc, and they keep daring him to do it, and he hasn't. We're up to a Triple Dog Dare at this point.

Doing the above will kill millions of innocent civilians, INSANE.
No President, or sane person, would want the death of millions on their hands and conscience.
No drinking water, no sanitation, no transportation, no refrigeration, no hospitals or medical care, even routine....you're crazy.

I have to assume at this point that Trump is doing his absolute best to separate any past actions as part of Epic Fury and any future actions as part of a new operation to get around the war powers time limit. He knows if it goes to vote, congress won't give him an extension so he has to make it absolutely clear that the previous operation has ended and anything else would fall under a different engagement, ultimately resetting the clock.

I'm thinking this also. Seems like we're purposely stalling for time now. Seems like war powers act is out of play now and something else is brewing.
I'm guessing that the super duper AI quantum computers the military uses may be gaming out an alternative ending.
I'm also certain weapons and ammunition are getting to places the IRGC is the weakest, outside of Tehran and the larger cities.
The new Iranian revolution will start outside the larger cities and eventually reaches the IRGC centers in the larger cities. Same way the Aztecs were taken out by 400 Spaniards and hundreds of thousands pissed off oppressed locals.
BTW hwyman108, Excellent post and agree 100%!

Gotta be honest. Having to stop escorts and defense of navigation in order to get a deal signed, one that would necessarily include freedom of navigation through the Strait, seems like a non sequitur. What does it have to do with anything?

I have a hard time believing anything will go down before he gets with China. I think they’re will be “we made a lot of good progress” but there’s still a sticking point. Blockade is still inplace
It seems UAE is ready to start attacking them, which seems like they’re real close with Israel RN. Who knows though.
But issue seems that they did less damage to the nuclear program than thought.
After going to China they’ll have one more “deal push” then I think there’s more strikes.
They’ll either have to topple the regime, try to capture the uranium in a super dangerous mission or use a nuclear warhead on a bunker buster to destroy it all. I don’t like either of the last two.
I do think Iran realizes we could strong arm Hormuz if we want. The nuke might be a posture to get them to give it up, because otherwise we can explode it. But I’m sure they’d love to smear trump with that. Idc if there’s a deal, I just want the financial vice grips to stay on their balls. I think that’s the best chance for the people to rise up.
Just my 2¢

Trump doesn’t need to do anything as long as the blockade is in effect. Time is not in Irans favor. They have no export income and without that income their currency is worthless. They can’t buy the imports they need. Plus soon they have no place to send oil.l, and the well will be shut in.

The president said the war “will be at an end” if Iran agrees to the proposals, meaning the Strait of Hormuz “will be open to all.”
His post on Truth Social came after markets reacted to an Axios report that the U.S. and Iran were close to an agreement that would bring their two-month war to an end.
The outlet reported on Wednesday that Washington expects responses from Tehran on several key points to form the basis of a one-page memo within the next 48 hours.
Oil prices fell sharply in response, while U.S. stock futures, equities listed in Europe and global sovereign bonds rallied.
In his Truth Social post, the president warned that if Iran did not agree to a deal, “the bombing starts, and it will be, sadly, at a much higher level and intensity than it was before.”
Before the post, a Pakistan government official told MS Now: “The prospect of a proposal to end the war is very likely in the coming days.”
A spokesperson for Iran’s foreign ministry told CNBC earlier on Wednesday they were “evaluating” a 14-article peace proposal from the U.S.

U.S., Iran closing in on memo to end war: Report
Axios reported that the deal would involve Iran committing to a moratorium on nuclear enrichment, the U.S. lifting sanctions on Iran, and both parties retreating from controls on ship transits through the Strait of Hormuz.
Many of the terms are reported to be contingent on a final agreement being reached between the two countries’ delegations.
A ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran has been in place since April 7 to allow for negotiations, but the break in hostilities has often looked fragile.
Earlier this week, Iran attacked U.S. forces that were helping commercial vessels transit the Strait of Hormuz, and launched fresh attacks on the UAE. The U.S., meanwhile, said it sank six small Iranian boats that attempted to interfere with commercial ships moving through the waterway.
But optimism for an end to the conflict resurfaced on Tuesday when Trump said he was pausing “Project Freedom” — the U.S. military’s operation aimed at guiding ships out of the Strait of Hormuz — a day after it began to see whether a peace deal could be finalized.
“Great Progress has been made toward a Complete and Final Agreement” with Iran, Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
