So the seized cargo ship was coming from China, headed to an Iranian port, and refused to stop when warned repeatedly by the blockade?
Sounds like we might find some interesting cargo on that ship. This could end up being a huge deal if we find out Xi was blatantly lying about supplying weapons or defense capability to Iran. Surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to send it by vessel AND ignore the blockade...
But there was a reason they didn't want to stop when faced with all that power

Looks like instead of being subjected to a handshake, they have chosen the heel of the boot.

Our own representatives haven't made it to Pakistan yet either - if they're even going anymore.
Iran has already said they aren't participating, and while they lie constantly, should probably be taken at their word on this one.
It's also like 2-3am over there "on Monday." Not knocking you BayouBengal, but that tweet is somewhat misleading

They are probably scared to get on the grid at this point.
If I was one of the negotiators I would have never left Pakistan.

I'm hoping that the military buildup is just Trump's way of turning the screws. I don't see why we just don't continue with the embargo. There's a good chance that either they'll break or the people will rise up.

It is an untenable situation where neither choice is particularly palatable, politically speaking. Continue the blockade and allow the plight of the innocent Irani citizen to progressively worsen due to an eventual humanitarian crisis, or ramp up the bombing and actually attack civilian infrastructure, ultimately doing the same.
It isn't an easy decision to make, and if the Iranians simply refuse to negotiate......all of the pressure of "what next" is on the US.

Now it's clear why the IRGC is so pissed off about the seized container ship Touska by the US Navy. It was probably loaded with a chemical component for rocket fuel, and had just come from the loading port in China known for that purpose. — WaPo

Seems we have many new targets to hit and more radical leaders that need to be eliminated.
Even if we get some of these so called leaders to sign a paper it means nothing.

A few questions and thoughts:
The U.S. says it warned the vessel for 6 hours. Why didn’t it stop?
Was it carrying weapons or dual use materials?
Did the crew think a China route gave them protection?
Was this a deliberate test of the blockade?
Will the U.S. reveal what was actually on board?

The IRGC believe they can win this by running the clock out.
1. Pretend they want a ceasefire.
2. The IRGC continues to do the same shite and lie that we are untrustworthy.
3. Get their shite pushed in.
4. Go to 1.

In that order. We've been able to watch their comings and goings over the ceasefire, need to catch them off guard and launch a targeted strike on all three right now in the middle of the night over there before they go back into hiding. Simultaneously hit one power plant and one bridge.
Let the next round of guys get a chance to negotiate with a major power outage somewhere in their country and previous men in their position killed by elite intelligence.
The next round of guys in charge want to play cute and tough on Twitter and through propaganda? They're dead too and another power plant and bridge gone.
Rinse and repeat until freedom intensifies

Would this be considered an act of war by China? Or do we ignore it much like the Russians do with us and Ukraine?

Trump won't ignore it if we find rocket fuel components in the cargo. He will tarriff the shite out China, but that will be the extent of it.

Also, they gave that ship every opportunity to turn around. Before they fired upon it, they were warned for 6 hours straight before action was taken. They had plenty of time to avoid being fired upon and then having the ship seized.
The IRGC/Islamic Republic thought we were bluffing and they just found out the US Navy does not play that game.
