The British military has raised its top alert level for the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, calling conditions “critical.”
UKMTO reported heavy naval activity and warned of a high risk of attack or miscalculation as Iran tightens transit rules and U.S. forces enforce a blockade.

I wonder what did China, Russia or someone else bring into Iran? The airfields should have been totally destroyed to prevent any planes coming in.
One of their airports main runways was still intact. They parked a bunch of trucks and busses on it to prevent the landing of US or Israeli aircraft for the launch of a ground invasion. I imagine this is the same airport that China/Russia have been using to move equipment and people into and out of Iran.

Despite the ongoing ceasefire between Iran and the United States, both sides appear to be preparing for a potential resumption of hostilities.
The U.S. continues to move additional assets into the region, including air defense resupplies, counter-drone systems, and reinforced USMC elements.
USAF bomber assets at RAF Fairford are also conducting pre-strike preparations in the event operations resume.
There remains a credible possibility that USMC forces could be employed in a direct role if conflict escalates again, including the usage of the USS Boxer Amphibious Ready Group (once it arrives) and the USS Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group.

I believe that Trump is doing everything he can to get a deal and I think he doesn't want this to escalate again. But, I have no doubt he will make the decision to do some more dirty work if needed. Iran is just so very stupid.

I agree. The very real threat of continued destruction has to be a part of any strong negotiation.
Iran can choose the carrot or the stick...

On Friday, I met his excellency, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwait @mof_qatar to discuss ongoing cooperation between the United States and Qatar, especially during Iran’s attacks against Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
I emphasized that the United States seeks to deter future attacks by Iran and to ensure that energy and broader markets are not further impacted.
I also welcomed Qatar’s continued investment in the United States, specifically in relation to strengthening energy security.

If I were a proud Brit, I'd feel both emasculated and embarrassed that the US has a destroyer named Winston S. Churchill actively taking part in the safety of the Strait while my country and its leaders do nothing but talk and "plan"
Americans honor the legacy of Churchill, while the new British government shats (to use their own language) on him

So the seized cargo ship was coming from China, headed to an Iranian port, and refused to stop when warned repeatedly by the blockade?
Sounds like we might find some interesting cargo on that ship. This could end up being a huge deal if we find out Xi was blatantly lying about supplying weapons or defense capability to Iran. Surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to send it by vessel AND ignore the blockade...
But there was a reason they didn't want to stop when faced with all that power

Looks like instead of being subjected to a handshake, they have chosen the heel of the boot.

Our own representatives haven't made it to Pakistan yet either - if they're even going anymore.
Iran has already said they aren't participating, and while they lie constantly, should probably be taken at their word on this one.
It's also like 2-3am over there "on Monday." Not knocking you BayouBengal, but that tweet is somewhat misleading
